I've been trying to x-ray the various aspirants that have thrown in their hats in the ring for the presidential ticket of the APC.

Out of the many names flying around, I've decided to pick four of them as the serious ones in the race. They are:

Yahaya Bello
Amaechi
Osinbajo
Tinubu

I tried to assess these four frontliners vis a vis their chances of emergence as APC presidential flag bearer. I just had to pause for a while and ask myself what does Vice President Osinbajo truly have? I just can't see him in this race at all. Besides waiting for "anointing oil" from Buhari, Osinbajo doesn't have any political base anywhere in Nigeria.

Yahaya Bello has the Kogi State APC structure in his control.
Tinubu has the Lagos State APC structure in his control.
Amaechi has the Rivers State APC structure in his control. This is a very good start from home for these three aspirants in terms of delegates count.

However, Osinbajo doesn't have that of Lagos where he ran away from nor that of Ogun where he ran to. I think the VP may just have been wrongly advised by some sycophants to embark on this political suicide. It's definitely going to end in shame for him. I don't expect some emotional political neophytes to agree with me but the results of the primary will clear their ignorance. Please save this post for reference after the primary.

Again I ask what does Osinbajo truly have?

He has the guts Ambode did not have. It's interesting that he is labeled as an underdog, but be aware that his backers have control over all those delegates. Osibanjo didn't throw his hat into the ring without some serious assurances backstage.

For my love for Professor Osinbajo after watching him brilliantly prosecute many landmark cases for Lagos State, ACN and Southwest Nigeria I won't call him a political neophyte

But honestly sentiments apart, Professor Osinbajo can't win APC or PDP primaries he can barely attempt a smaller party to give him easy ticket

There's no difference between Osinbajo and Ambode for now. Don't forget that Ambode also contested the primary but was disgraced. It'll be the miracle of the century if Osinbajo escapes similar fate as Ambode.

You talked about serious backers that control the delegates, can you please name them for us?

You all are hoping that Governors will betray their allies of many years or Buhari's endorsement which is funny. The candidature of Osinbajo will generate so much bad blood that there will be no party to fall back to. Party members will stand with the most important Aspirant to the party.

Honestly I don't know how the VP will get the votes to emerge as APC presidential candidate. He doesn't have any political base. He has not built enough political ties across Nigeria yet for this kind of race. Nor be small pikin race oo.

They are clowns really. Where was Osinbajo and co when Jagaban was sponsoring the elections of many APC candidates? Those candidates will still need him later in their careers. I don't see how they will sacrifice such relationship for a broke Pastor who cannot be trusted to be loyal.

Osinbajo is just being hopeful God backs his ambition ,Apart from that, that man won’t win a local govt election with no structure across the country ..

Osibanjo is all part of Tinubu's last attempts to hold onto the Power Structure but still, they do not understand. I like Tinubu for putting up a fight tho. Fulanis cannot always get away with the Cake, especially after Southerners sacrifice themselves for them.

Only a person that is not a keen political observer that will not know that he will contest.

I already knew something was fishy when we did not see Osinbajo visiting Tinubu after the successful surgery in London. I was more convinced during the APC convention.

Like the Yakees will say, I cannot see any path to victory for Osinbajo in APC presidential primaries.

If Osinbajo is expecting Buhari and the cabals to lord it or force him over Tinubu then APC will collapse. You might not believe this but time will tell.

To some extent, you are right that he would have done his assignment. However, sometimes the push and urging on from sycophants, mischief makers and ambition can blind sense of reasoning. Some people want to use Osinbajo to settle political scores and he has made himself available. Time will tell if he will succeed. My opinion is, he will fail or APC will fail.

You obviously don't know anything about Nigeria politics. Go and ask your elders at home, they'll tell you that Tinubu was already a senator of the federal republic of Nigeria as far back as 1992. He was also one of the founding fathers of AD at the return of democracy in 98/99. He was one of the founders of NADECO that battled the military and returned Nigeria to democracy. If you are equating the dynamics of choosing a Party chairman to that of a Presidential candidate, you need to educate yourself. The chairmanship position has always been filled by consensus.

If Buhari could not enforce the consensus option for his own re-election in 2019, why will he do so for another person? Buhari himself went through Primaries as a sitting President so whoever is banking on consensus is a dreamer. If ure worthy to be the APC candidate why are you afraid of primaries? No 'mago-mago' this time, we will go to the field!

Honestly, Osinbajo has no structure and doesn't have the political sagacity to attract many delegates or win the mind of most state Governors despite sitting with them monthly in NEC.
From all indications, the choice of cabal's in the Presidency isn't PYO but Amaechi for so many reasons.
Buhari can't convince delegates to vote his preferred candidate unlike party Chairmanship's position.

Osinbajo has God and the Nigerian Masses. That's more than a Structure some other people claim to have.
