Historically Batman solos doesn't gross much box office in China. Also, nationwide COVID lockdowns in China is to blame.
Under normal circumstances, the region should have brought in $50-65mn total BO.

Omo, this Covid really wrecked Asia box office. Saw statements of people saying Asia box office was really poor or underwhelming. Never new the lockdowns was this bad.

It was a great watch. It started slowly at first and later grew on me.
John Travolta and Samuel big fvvking L Jackson delivered brilliant performance. Some WTF moments here and there and Quentin's unique style of storytelling.

I think you're overly overestimating the impact of Covid on Asian territories on The Batman..
The Batman, as good as it is, was 3 hours long.. Doesn't allow for much repeat viewings and also not heavy in action..

No time to die did more business in Korea and Japan compared to Italy and Spain, don't even want to bring up No way home which means those two markets are back, or as close as back as can be to pre-pandemic levels...

As for China, the whole of China isn't locked down, Shanghai and surrounding Southeastern cities are locked down, economic hub but not enough reason for The Batman's figures...China loves VFX action fest, The Batman didn't provide that...
As an aside, what did Aquaman gross in China?

While totally different movies, Uncut gems had me feeling the same way Pulp fiction had me feeling then...Just a chaotic, crazy, don't know what's about to happen next edge of the seat ride...

Downloaded the psa 4k this morning.

Pahe sources their 4K encode mostly from a x264 which allows for little compression without losing quality hence the large size most times, why Psa sources thiers from a x265 encode which allows for maximum compression with no loss or minute loss of quality..and the Psa print are always prestine and far better than any elsewhere...i cut cap for those guys.

Dude you're trying to play down the effect of Shanghai total lockdown. That market is the largest economic hub in China, there's also Guangzhou and Shenzhen which are amongst the top 4 largest economies in China on lockdown. So what you saying. Shenzhen and Shanghai were on lockdown late February weeks before the Batman debuted. And those markets are totally closed off now.
Places like Beijing that even have theaters still open are working with 50% capacity.

It's like locking down New York and California in US and think you'll get any significant money in Box office. When those two regions were lockdown in the US, you saw how Hollywood suffered until they were opened in 2021.

The period No Time To Die debuted those two regions were already getting back open and prolly the first Hollywood title in over year over there. No Way Home was released in a period of relative stability in December... These new Covid spikes started in mid February with stricter lockdowns in late February. NWH had already done 90% if not more of its box office run by then. So NWH and NTTD doesn't count.

Of course I'm aware of its runtime which I stated in almost all my posts and categorical stated China ain't a huge fan of Batman and slow stories. I'm well aware of Aquaman's gross, Wonder Woman and how they live those big spectacle.

They easily could have cut out a few scenes and the movie would still be coherent. And I don't know why Batman keeps walking slowly. All in all though the movie was very interesting
