Me I go still dey talk am, na that January Tw kill us. How the board, edu and Arteta thought that our players won't have injuries/COVID to some first team players was really bold of them. Very very bold and it was glaring.

Anytime after match day I always look at the bench and reason, if indeed we're looking for goals or key someone had injury, who will replace in that Midfield and attack?
only ESR is a worthy Sub Specifically for just attackwise or for direct replacement for Odegaard if Odegaard have injury.

But you see dem Elneny, Sambi, Pepe. They never inspire person at all.
Probably what you do t get is that you think sale or purchase of players under contract is as easy as buying bole from Mama Chichi. My brother, make we dey reason well o grin

I am not in the mood to start explaining my stand on this issue over and over again.

Shebi the person who wrote the tweet was unaware Arsenal signed two midfielders last summer, it was only defenders and goal keeper we signed....smh.

Make una believe anything una wan believe and carry on with una agenda. E go be!
Here’s where u r missing my point, the midfielders signed are they upgrade on our midfielders, regular starter and or back up. Your answer should be enough to know whether you get my points.

You said the defense department needs replacement and the replacement done was an upgrade on the existing defenders can u say same thing about the midfield and attack NO. Now, my assertion is the likes of Xhaka, Lokonga, Elneny Odegard are meant to b backups and not starters.

That bolded was 100%. That's what at least was really needed to scale us through this period.

I dey suspect say Spy dey among the board members. Na only him dey understand wetin this board dey do cos e surprise me say the Tw was talked more about our players leaving instead of expecting players coming and people didn't see issue with that grin
His method of Amala turning is not from this World. E don port to mental strength, before end of season he will port to physical strength.

do you know we're on the cusp of finishing in worse position than last season if we continue like this.

And yeah, the reason why we're in this table of points presently is because of the goals scored which cancels out the goals conceded that makes our point higher than last season.

Midfield and attack speaking grin
Last season we only rallied towards the end. This season we were close to beating Chelsea to third place. That's an improvement we all attested to. How is it that we forget so soon? Two injuries and someone is comparing us to last season that most deemed a failure? Na wa o.

I am not happy with the state of things, but we must channel our criticism correctly. Replacing Partey from outside would be easy, but doing so within will always be a huge task for the manager and players and I do not expect them to complete it in two matches.

You guys can cry and whine but those who run the club know how it pinches.

Your memory is sharp.

This is to let all those pushing attack/midfield agenda that there was a genuine attempt to sign quality midfielder and striker- Vlahovic, in January. Our lack of European commitment spoiled those moves.

In times past we would have panicked and signed rubbish just to meet the demand, but this time we showed foresight and refocused on the team.

I prefer this. I prefer that we can have a go again next window from a fresh start rather than whine about how bad those signings would have become and being forced to work them out (see Pepe).

We were just unfortunate, but it will definitely pay off. There will be so much room for two or three strikers next season. That's more refreshing.
How Manchester United pulled the stunt of signing Bruno then needed to b study by Arsenal scouts.

You here still justifying stupid decision made by the coaching crew and visionless board, are you saying if they push for a proven DM and another goal getter apart from Vlahovic they won’t see or what, this ur point no hold water from my lens. You needed 2 players badly to upgrade your team and failed to do the needful and you here supporting the decision with u don’t want panic buy... I pray that panic buy will land us in Top4.

When I'm less busy I will quote some of my posts here requesting we get midfielders this last transfer window.

The reason why I keep pointing it out that y'all are all about agenda is that u suddenly developed Glaucoma when we were jointly lamenting about getting midfielders till they announced Odegaard has joined us permanently . And if my memory serves me right, during the good run of games most people here were shining teeth about the quality of Odegaard. I even saw some posts by fans online claiming Odegaard was a steal for the price we got him.

Now I have never said those guys were upgrades to the players we had , but I hate hypocrisy. I deteest it when everybody forgot about the quality of our back-up midfielders and suddenly got back their voice immediately things started going south and agenda continua.

When I reach for evening I go get small time to address some of the hypocrisy wey I dey read for here in recent times.

You are mistaken me to praise the decision not to buy and it's wrong.

I said I prefer not to buy than to buy and regret.

If I were going to buy a use car for example, and I go to see one and feel somehow about it, I would definitely suspend the plan till another opportunity arises. Why? See previous paragraph above.

Again, I repeat, Arsenal made genuine attempts to sign two good players- a midfielder and a striker, but the deals failed to go through. Those players preferred other clubs. So instead of panic buying the club chose to drop the plan till summer. How's that a bad idea.

Let me add that if you don't accept this then you are just being critical.

I’m waiting patiently and note that all my ranting is not an agenda but to state the facts, you keep hammering midfielders were signed and am of the opinion that those signed are not good enough to be starting.

Odegard he is trying not yet at the level I placed him because I craved for Maddison.

Lokonga: I will shamelessly accept coquelin back at his age instead of this Awilo, oh I forgot Guendozi wey Kokane no even rate is much more better than Lokonga.

You preferred not buying at all instead of buying and regret pls, am missing something.

The decision to not bring a single pin inside Emirate and stupidly allows players to move out is nothing but an irrational decision putting the current squad into consideration...this is epl where var will be against you, referee issuing unnecessary cards, injury, fart brain of some players, fatigue and loss of form and don’t forget new players signed always ginger the existing players Bruno as a case study.

I am not hammering on anything. Some people including the auhor of the tweet you posted are mischievously claiming we spent on midfielders and that was it.....Well, here I am saying that is not true; its a false representation of facts.

The reason I said I wasn't going to repeat myself over and over again is that even if I do, most people already have their agenda in mind and will hold on to it as long as our bad spell lasts.

You know the midffied-defence argument has been on for over 2 seasons and counting . It started when we bought Gabriel and some people felt we should've kept Mustafi, David Luiz and Papasthapopulous while we spend on replacing Xhaka and Elneny in the mddle of the park. I pointed it out that I stood by the decision of the club to bin those trashy defeners by bringing in a more stable player like Gabriel and I still pointed it out that the midfield was not neglected completely cos Partay was brought in as well.

Now last season we say we were lacking in the RB & LB with the dparture of Bellerin and Kolasinac respectively; it is only reasonable for the club to get replacement for them. It is on record here that I was never excited about the idea of bringing Ben white in at 50m(even when some were trolling about signing more defenders). I mentioned how we needed another midfielder to complement Partey's work in the middle and I was disappointed a farily unknown/under-experienced player like Lokonga was brought in instead...... I had hoped the player that would be brought in will send Xhaka parking completely but I guess Arteta and his scouts had other plans.

Now I have never said the players signed were the right fit, but I've seen people hype Odegaard's signing, I've seen people talk about how Gabriel and Ben White Partnership has been solid in some games we had to defend a slim lead and I've people praising the signing of Ramsdale to.....all these while the going was good.

Partey injury came and Saka ongoing Burnout surfaces and everybody carry agenda come out Fiam!. No be juju be that ?

I'm not saying we've not improved. I believe we are and I always stand by it.

My main grouse mostly is the January transfer window. I'm not even critical of the summer transfer window sef, na this January own they pain me.

You can say the club knows where it pinches than fans but then even them knew they fvcked up in the winter transfer. We were gunning for something worthwhile and the best they could do for the team is to handicap the team?

We were out of all competitions in January apart from the league. Keeping and paying a bloated squad of misfits was more irrational. If you can't see the simple plan then I am sorry.

Assuming we're in summer Tw. So if our first choice striker and Midfielder says dey won't come to arsenal because we're not playing UCL (maybe we unluckily missed out). Will you be happy if the club says since we've missed out on them, let's rely on Nketiah and balogun as our top 2 striker's and rely on our midfield depth as it is?

You see, you are the one who does not take things into perspective.

The summer and winter windows are not the same. Summer lasts from July to August ending, and the season ended. So player movement is very easy and there's time to negotiate deals.

January window is right in the middle of the season when most clubs would be unwilling to lose their players. Deals are more expensive and the time for negotiation is very short especially while still trying to prepare for matches.

Do you remember short and long break in school? Or midterm and long vacation holidays? Na the same thing?

I do not personally regard the Jan window because it's just a time for makeup and not upgrading.

Just like you said we did good business in the summer. We have to wait for another summer for more good businesses. If the club fails to upgrade in the next window, then I will gladly call them out. For now, I have my thinking caps on.

One thing I like about you is you like turning Amala u always accuses one off, back to the bolded part, you agreed unconsciously to my rant.

Does the coaching crew makeup for injury, fatigue, unnecessary bookings, fart brain of players and or lost of form? NO, at the expense of bottling Top4.

Raising the issue of only competing in league as an evidence to not strengthen is not good enough and should be discarded as we are seeing the way things is panning out already.

Consequently, if we secured Top4 at the end of the season which everybody want, thus, you can say the decision of the coaching is damn right, however, if they failed to secure the Top4, the decision not to strengthen has backfired irrespective of any silly points raised by the coaching crew and or pundits.

No.

Please no, I beg you.

Makeup does not mean upgrade. Makeup infact is optional. Upgrade is part of rebuilding. No serious club rebuilds or upgrades in Jan unless they have bloody sugar daddies. That's because it's extremely risky. Except Newcastle with new daddies, no club did upgrade. Spurs did a makeup with Kulusevic and Bentacour, yet Conte still complained, yet they got beaten by Brighton. Makeup is makeup, but rebuilding or upgrade is a whole lot different.

We sold out deadwoods, could have made up with quality Vlahovic and Melo, but deal failed. I can't blame the manager for if a player refused to join. We only move.

Infact I prefer in-house makeup as we did with ESR last season and Saka before that. We did an upgrade on our defense which was very successful. Hopefully, next window, we face midfield and attack. It's a process, it's a journey. All I want from the team is steady growth to show the effort, and this is what I am seeing so far.

If finally we finish 4th or 5th, it's an improvement however small, this will create the platform for a MUST TOP 4 finish next season.
