Before Jesus left he appointed Peter the apostle as the spokesperson of that little group whom he called "Apostles" that's why Jesus said:

"I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." Matthew 16:19

Jesus also commanded this same Peter saying:

When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?" "Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my lambs." John 21:15

That's why you'll notice Peter always speaking up for the group {Act 1:13} anytime the need arises or whenever they're questioned! Act 2:14; 3:4,12; 4:19; 5:29

But does that mean Peter has become infallible since Jesus chose him as spokesman for the Apostles?
The answer is NO!
Because the same Peter failed woefully to acknowledge gentiles who has been baptized with God's Holy Spirit in the presence of Jewish Christians {Galatians 2:11-14} despite the fact that God has forewarned him not to discriminate against believers due to racism! Act 10:15

So there was a GOVERNING BODY in the first century and Apostle Paul whom Jesus used to correct peter acknowledged this BODY that's why he always report back to them:

As they traveled on through the cities, they would deliver to them for observance the decrees that had been decided on by the apostles and the elders who were in Jerusalem. Act 16:4 compare to 15:2

Apostle Paul emphasized on the need for all the Christian congregations to OBEY the counsel of the GOVERNING BODY! Hebrews 13:7, 17


So if you don't know that there was a GB after Jesus' ascension to heaven that's not my fault Sir!
