I have a question regarding adding a spouse. I know everyone's personal circumstance is different, so I'm really just asking for what people think, in general. People with specific experiences/advice should please share too ohh.

For someone who is unmarried, when is the "best time" to arrange, say a court marriage, and add your spouse? Would it be post AOR, post PPR, post COPR, or post landing? Does the stage of addition typically influence the processing time for the spouse? Apart from post landing, do you always need to update POF? Just want to hear people's opinion.

This is delicate one here and a lot of the "before before" processes have changed. I'll wait for the elders to handle this one as it is delicate.

It will end in praise IJN!

Wow...Big Congrats. Thank God for the smooth journey. Also gonna be travelling to Ottawa soon with a 9 months old baby. Though I intend using KLM. I am low key dreading that long flight with a baby..but I know it will definitelygo great. Are you fully vaccinated? Were you asked to show proof of vaccination at Toronto?
Mstomie:

Landing gist
Abuja- Heathrow- Toronto - Ottawa
Left with BA on the 17th April, family of 3.
We booked directly with BA at Transcorp cause we were particular about getting the bassinet seat.

I recently received Ppr , I was also blessed with a baby on the 13th of March 2022. However when we applied my spouse was unaccompanied due to low crs score. Due to this change in my family composition I want to request ircc changes my spouse to accompanied due to the fact I may not be able to cope with 2 children and I need his help in our new home. I have requested my daughter be added to the application. Can I request my husband be changed to accompanied Will our crs score be recalculated Really worried as our Crs score will be low nd it might affect my PR. Plz I need your guidance. Thank you

Hmm.
I will say your act carefully. I will advise you do soft landing, get your PR cards and return to Nigeria.
Start the spouse sponsorship immediately- some are getting it in less than a year. When your baby is old enough, apply for visiting visa for your mum to accompany you back to Canada. Your husband can also try visiting visa in between.

Please do not take decision without enough clarification.
All the best.

IMO best time is post AOR, pre PPR, pre COPR. Read FAQ 34 on page 1 please.

Your CRS will not be recalculated (new spouse does not need ECA or IELTS), but new spouse will need to do biometrics, medicals and PCC. You will also need to increase POF to cover family of 2 instead of 1 and pay application fees and RPRF. It may add more time to your processing compared to if you remained single. However, I suspect it's typically shorter than sponsorship, which is the only route I know of, if you marry after landing. To sponsor spouse, the PR must be living in Canada. Read here for more info on sponsorship:

Seniors in the house i need help please. When i created my profile, i mistakenly selected 10hrs as working hours per week thinking its per day. I got nomination and invitation to apply. I spotted this error just when i was about to submit my application. I tried adjusting the hours and noticed that my score increased by 25points, which is above my ITAITA score. Do i adjust it or leave it as it is and write an LOE to that affect. My reference letter stated the correct number of hours when i submitted to my province and got nomination.

The second option. Leave it that way with LOE for peace of mind. Thank God you noticed it before submitting, it would have gotten you a rejection for misinterpretation or maybe an ADR of the VO is kind.

I just went through the work hours on IRCC. I claimed 3yrs and the total hours is 1440 which is not up to 1yr. I was supposed to write 50hrs, i am really confused

Post AOR is the best time to do your court wedding/ add a spouse as your scores will not be recalculated. The spouse will only need to do PCC and medicals.

thank you all for the response. Any known tutorial or app that teaches french?

No affiliation, but IEF and some private tutors are often praised on here.
You can also check the nearest AF(Alliance Française) branch, although you might have to take their intensive classes.
There is a TEF/ French thread with boku information.

You stand a very good chance in this journey if you can do a lot of research. Your IELTS is low especially the listening. Maxing out your English test with scores of LRSW- 8.5, 8.0, 7.5, 7.5 respectively and 3 years experience should put you in the 480s range and depending on your occupation, you may be lucky to get nominated by a province. You just need to do the ground work by doing your own research and playing with the CRS calculator. All the best.
