I think this is a step in the right direction, but countries have got to start being "Proactive", as opposed to being "Reactive". They should have already had their own social media platforms that were the predominate choice in their own countries before having to start something "after" the fact. I never understood why any country would allow the U.S. social media platforms to be the most popular amongst their people, when it would never be the other way around. Take Nigeria for example, I remember when your president banned Twitter for awhile, and people were in an uproar about it. But, yet on the thread with the Chinese man beating on a Rwandan citizen, it sparked a debate about the black man's ability to create his own inventions and believe in himself. Well, guess what? It has start somewhere and you can't argue one moment by stating that the black man never creates anything and is too dependent on others, but yet throw a tantrum and remain comfortable with the white man's technology. You have to want to create your own mediums/platforms and those inventions should be supported by the citizens and become the predominate choice because America would never have it any other way.

You guys were posting one month chart and I posted a chart that went back to 2008. I added more dataset to get a more robust result.

You see that 2014 dip. That was around the time of the Russia/Crimea brouhaha. Russia ruble never recovered. Let's wait till the end of the year when this current sanction gets a foothold, and we might see another big dip.

Yep, you're right and guess where a lot of their engineers come from? They sure as hell aren't home grown. Look, I know what I am talking about. Do you live in the U.S.? Have you ever spent a significant amount of time in the U.S.? Because I can answer Yes to both questions, so again, I know what I am talking about.

A lot of the big tech companies in America are filled with Indian names who are hired as Engineers. A lot of the medical field is also filled with Indian/Asian names as well. Heck, look at the current google CEO....Sundar Pichai. Also, ever notice when it comes to these big tech start-ups and you tend to see a white American as the CEO, but then you see an Indian or Asian as the CTO or some other tech executive role. Basically, what that translates to is that the white needed the "tech knowledge" of the Indian or Asian, but placed himself as the head honcho so that white America would give it a thumbs up and allow it to be a successful venture. These white tech companies need international help, trust me I know based on first hand knowledge.

So what robust dataset are you looking for? Rubles has recovered from Russian sanctions and is on its way to going much higher by the time EU begins paying for their gas in rubles. Deal with it.

The Indian dude you are talking about have masters of science from US universities. And they had to come to US to achieve what they achieved. Why can't those Indians repeat the same feat in China or Russia ? Your guess is as good as mine.

Chinese are well known copy cats and do a poor job copying western tech. They are trying but not there yet.

Yep, and there's a lot of Indians/Asians in Silicone Valley as well. And as far as why they can't seem to replicate this in their homelands. For example, does India have the same wealthy investors that will back their start-ups like whites in America? I doubt it. Perhaps, the great equalizer comes down to money/capital to fund the start-up, which you know is not equal across the board. You know white America has the upper hand when it comes to money and will back and support their own. Take for example the Uber app, I saw that app had been created in India before it became mainstream in America, and yet it didn't blow up like Uber or Lyft. Perhaps, because the Indians didn't have the backing and support of white powerful, wealthy investors to back them up like the white boys in America do.

I agree, but we can't also discount the efforts of ivy league universities in helping Asians achieve success in addition to being given employment by majorly White Engineers majorly founded companies.. Google CEO is a Stanford and UPenn grad.

Microsoft CEO is a Wisconsin and Chicago grad

I'm not discrediting the education of ivy league universities. But, I hope you can understand that a lot of raw skills and intelligence is not procured at a university. For example, I have met a lot of software developers, graphic designers etc. who stated that they are "self-taught" and honed their skills primarily on their own. They did procure a degree "after" the fact. But, the degree itself was just more of a resume gem and a networking opportunity for them. The degree itself was not responsible for actually teaching them their skills. Again, their skills were self-taught and the degree looks good on a resume and it also helps to be a part of a strong alumni to help land the top level tech jobs.

Not sure what you meant @ the bolded. I think they have themselves to owe for their success, since it was their own drive, will, and determination to learn the skills that afforded them the opportunities in the first place. Plus, even if they didn't decide to attend an American university, many could have still made money as freelance agents or consultants. Maybe not as much, but they still could have earned a living, since their skills are in demand and they can still work for themselves as well.

And based on your logic, then I guess America owe their success to all of the countries, especially African countries that they have stolen from to enrich themselves. People think America is so great now because it did all of its thieving and dirt in the past to become what it is now. But, I digress...sigh

I have lost count of many bright guys from Nigeria and Asia that I have had the opportunity to know as Friends, work colleagues in America and classmates in my engineering class at masters level. We all have one thing in common, we all come from different 3rd world countries but owe our success in our career to America. We would be ungrateful to think otherwise.

Without US scholarships, most of us would still be stuck in our respective 3rd world countries.
That is what I meant by the bolded.

Americans owe their success to their founding fathers, slaves from Africa, indentured Irish, chinese labourers and the hard work of everyone involved. It's a free country that does not discriminate and opened its gates via diversity lottery programs, scholarships,l. It's a country that despite not having to do so still send aids to African countries where it even has zero ties to. They may not be perfect, but it is trying abeg.

And I disagree, I do not feel as if they owe any success to America. F!ck America, and the reason I say this is because after enriching themselves from all over the globe and now leaving a lot of these nations in poverty. Of course, people are going to be coming to your door step to feast at your table. It's the same with the UK, Canada etc.

And people like you never address why you have to "japa" from your lands in the first place. As I have said before, if African nations had ever began to truly progress and have leaders that had their best interest at heart, then you can be assured that the West would come in an sabotage it. Because they like that dependent attitude that you have. So grateful to be given something from the white man, without realizing that you shouldn't have to go to them in the first place.

Plus, America was NOT enriched by any founding fathers b.s., it was enriched off of stolen labor, that they now refer to as human trafficking in today's world. It is enriched off of the blood and murder of the natives that it brutally killed and damn near annihilated off of the earth. American history is nothing and I repeat nothing to be proud of. It is shameful and as the old adage goes, 'you reap what you sow", and their reaping is coming. That's all I'll say for now.
