Ukraine says it's disappointed that its efforts to join the European Union have met resistance from Austria.

Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg was quoted saying that Kyiv should not be offered membership of the 27-country bloc, and alternative paths should be considered to develop EU-Ukraine ties.

Ukraine has called the remarks "strategically short-sighted".

The EU has rallied behind Ukraine during the war, punishing Russia for its invasion with sanctions.

That was what I thought was a better line of thought for Ukraine!
It is the line of thought the UK was trying to push which the insider eu members new the benefits

But how does a nation like Ukraine prosper when the only thing they think about is NATO membership!

Many EU members will block UKRAINE from joining EU. There is a reason Turkey has not given membership till this day.

The membership is given to a well democratic state. Ukraine is not a democratic state. Zelenszky is just forcing it's country on EU. He is an authoritarian leader.

Russia's aims when it started it's military operations two months ago have been pretty much realised. Yet the western editorial board still wants those civilians, NATO and US commanders and Ukraine soldiers surrounded and trapped in Azovstal, to hold out until they starve to death. Very humane.....


Now At no point has there been any doubt whatsoever that Putin's stated aims would be met. The hegemonic western media has been desperately leading the public on a wild ride filled with utter fantasy and wishful thinking from day one. Was there any international law during the US/ nato destructions in Afghanistan Iraq ( day 1 in 2003 more bombs than russia used 1 month against Ucraine 2022) Yugoslavia Libya Syria...? Just to name a few...( USA in indochina from 64 to 75: VietNam Laos( more bombs than total WW2 ) Cambodia. These countries destroyed totally).....

We are not talking about NATO. We are talking about EU (European Union). They are not the same. Turkey applied for EU membership on the 14th of April, 1987 and up till now she has not been accepted.
