Since when do oyinbos engage in fair trade? They go out of their way to steal billions (and ensure they can continue to) all the time. That said, there are indeed companies in Nigeria and all over Africa worth that much and more. There are also startups with that potential. |

Jeon: Aunty/ Madam, calm down! This is a serious econometrics questions and should not be derailed . The question the OP is asking is deeper than we thought! Nigeria Banks were once in N25 Billions Capitalisation quest during Governor Soludo and 79 Banks were reduced to 25 banks! Today, Capital Flights is major now in Nigeria and Africa at large and to worsen the current situations, most big men in this country are storing up the Foreign Currencies abroad thereby further reducing the exchange equalisation of what you think local companies like Dangote, Coca-Cola,etc have as assets! So, only very few companies can beat the Twitter price or even at lower price! |

This topic is good for investment purpose. I don't any built up company in nigeria worth $40b. Nedbank the 3rd largest bank in SA market cap is $74b that is more than all Nigerian banks market cap (zenith, first bank,GTB,fcmb etc). Dangote's share is less than a dollar, twitter is $54.04. 2 Likes |

Emir01: This is simply not true. Let Dangote put up his brand for sale. Then we will see. Look, Dangote group or whatever you call it is what it seemingly is because of Dangote the individual... Because of his untransferable ties to government, under the table deals, access, waivers, and his political 'octupussy' if you will. Whoever buys the so-called Dangote Group would change the name, and 'Dangote Group' without Dangote could as well be Etognad Group, stripped of its driving underpinning. Such an entity with what the so-called group currently has as intrinsic value in the present operating context wouldn't be worth anything close to $15b. 1 Like |

DoctorOlasDesk:Two years ago, First Bank of Nigeria, one of Nigeria's leading banks declared total assets worth 5 trillion Naira, that not up to 20 billion dollars. Don't deceive yourself, no Nigerian company is worth 40 billion dollars. Dangote Group will only be close to that figure once his refinery is ready. 1 Like |

May be the OP should convert this $40b to Naira so people may know what we are talking about. NDIC once said 98% of Nigerians do not have more than N500k in their bank account. With a population of over 200 million, who will buy the finished products of the locally built up companies or investment companies to the value of $40B?. We don't have purchasing power in Nigeria. The city of Mumbia has over 60,000 millionaires while there are about 13000 millionaires in the entire country. 1 Like |

Why no one talking about Adamu Garba's Crowwe App? It may not worth $1000 but it's a Nigerian social media made to compete with Twitter. |
