I also teach SAT and TOEFL. You at on point brother....I know some brothers that are making living off of poultry business.... though it's technical cos livestock rearing isn't for novice perhaps someone can fine an expert in the field and give him money to run the business for him cos that's what i started in February with my guy...we combo 300k for an expert at my place of work to raise Turkey for 6 weeks and sell em and he has the market already....we were supposed to make like 80k profit last flock but papper work is different from reality....we made 50k I collected 20k my guy collected 20k and the man got 10k...we just bought another day old turkey last week Thursday and hoping to make more profit this time by the grace of God.... someone can start with that and be learning...after sometime someone can start off on his own and start making the 50k at least every 6 weeks plus 35k monthly salary that is fixed before you know you are doing well... consistent and accumulation make a rich man....my piece

Lol . I remember when I used to work in a private school after nysc. I was in one rickety bus heading to school one day when the driver decided to inflate the fare. I argued with the driver over the fare only for him to assess me from up to down and conclude I'm a mere teacher that earns a paltry #20,000. He actually said it to a passenger that sat beside him. Omoh, whick kind lesson una dey do wey Dem dey pay una 160k. I only make 5k per month from home lesson

I was earning 20k in 2018 but later they topped it with additional 5k making it 25k. I struggled to feed, transport and pay bills but that God I was able to quit the job and and start a jamb lesson with some friends. That was my major breakthrough.

I see a lot of people saying they earn 7k-20k as a teacher. People should stop downgrading teachers abeg. My wife earns 125k as salary as a teacher and with lessons she earn all together 300k. Just look for schools that pays well and be hard working.

U think u will just go to any skuk that pays well and they will employ u. I don submit c.v for schools tire and nothing yet. Abeg dont make it look as if we teachers that earn low aren't putting enough effort

I earned 20k in a private sch in Abule egba area. I worked for 3 months. On resumption of the second term, the teachers were asked to wash the classroom not leaving the walls. I resigned immediately. Stayed a year at home searching for another job.

Today, I earn 142k.

So, I've been thinking about this for a longer while now, then I came across a similar discussion on a platform. Hence I feel like I should share it with you guys.

As we all know there are a whole lot of insecurities going on in Nigeria now, just that we mostly narrow it down to life insecurity alone, which I believe our present predicament is way beyond.

Amongst them are food insecurity, life insecurity, marriage insecurity, properties insecurity, job insecurity and the list goes on and on.

But my area of interest is that of a job insecurity. As we all know how scholars, most especially graduates struggles to meet the end needs as a result of an increasing unemployment index from time to time at the expense of the commoners, the less connected individuals and the likes.

However, I have seen a graduate earned as low as 7k to 10k. And they held on to the job since their are no forthcoming opportunities to subtitute with.

So, what responsibility would that ridiculous salary cater for in this present economy? Or for how long would the person keep suffering and enduring the chain of time with 7 to 10k?. These are the questions I keep asking myself.

So, without streching this write up too far, I would like to ask this:

I read both of Ur comments. I saw that you were making corrections to him which is good then I checked yours as well and discovered u ain't free of the blame. Typo or not, your English was hell there. Moral: Address your own problem first before jumping on to others especially when you have that specific problem yourself.

go into farming with the latest agricultural practice. get loan and go into poultry, fishing and animal rearing. u will make a lot of profits from it. Don't depends on salary jobs. simply go into farming. best of luck

Bad advice!
Agriculture isn't easy. Please don't take loan to start a farm. I'm an experienced farmer and I've encountered serious losses. If you have money invest in acquiring knowledge, also do proper market research.
One thing is to farm, another thing is to sell.
Most importantly, start small.

After my NYSC way back in 2004, I was teaching in a private secondary school and earning N12,000. My dad's security that was opening the gate for me and greeting me "welcome" whenever I returned from work was earning N18,000.
