OSLO (Reuters) - Norway will close its borders and ports to Russian trucks and ships, joining sanctions imposed by the European Union over the war in Ukraine, the Norwegian foreign ministry said on Friday.

Russian fishing vessels, which often land their catch at ports in northern Norway, will receive exemptions from sanctions.

Norway's Arctic Svalbard archipelago, which operates under a 1920s treaty allowing expanded foreign access, will also be exempted, the ministry said.

This is good news for all the fish in the ocean. They can live in peace, especially for the baby fish, they don't need to worry about their parents being kidnapped. I'm just waiting for an European country to launch a missle towards Moscow so this WW3 can start already.

Why Norway don’t add fish sectors to it? Or Because Fishing sector is massive for Norway?

Meaning, only few Russia ships have a stop over in Norway.
If Norway are serious about the sanctions, let them add the fishing sector.

Norway is not in Eu so they don't have the kind of problems EU has with an economic miscalculation.Norway already has its own oil and gas to support it.
But the reason for this action is funny.
Maybe it is show it's EU counterpart that you don't shoot yourself when making decisions

These Europeans can't hit Russia where it hurts hard, Norwegians love Russian fish just like Germans love Russian cheap gas, everyone is sanctioning what they can do without while buying essentials from Russia, even America still buys a lot of fertilizer from Russia and removed that one from the sanctions list.

The hypocrisy of the West has been greatly exposed by this conflict, many of them like Bulgaria are very poor and just prints paper money without substance and that's why the Chinese, Indians and Arabs are not cooperating with Europe and America this time against Russia

Norway should think this through and not put her people in harm's way. We should all find a way to stop the way in Ukraine.
