While the tears isn't harmful, it isn't useful also like cleaning the eyes. It just causes irritation which induces tears and not that the tears cleans the eyes

No, ever since I discovered how to do it. After peeling the outer layer, cut into 2 and dip in water or put under running tap and let water penetrate in. Then go ahead and slice your onions with no tears

It's better to slice onions when you're ready to use it, because it attracts bacteria. It's not good to slice and keep before use

Wash the onions
Cut the head and tail
Rub salt to it then slice
If you slice plenty of the onions, just puor am salt
You no fit cry if you follow this steps wink

Make sure you are using the onions after slicing it if you don't the salt will spoil it oO
