I took my time to watch ward prowse this guy is really under rated, I watched some of his highlights and stats he's better than xhaka and elneny
I haven't even add his set piece threat, he can excel pairing him with partey he can mark, he can pass , he can shoot

Ward-Prowse is not a big club player. He s the best in terms of freekicks but not in general play.

He is like a Drinkwater. He's better at midtabke club not a team that's always chasing title or top 4.

I don’t like Loserpool and I don’t want them to win the league nor UCL , but I won’t mind them beating spurs for us so as to dampen their spirits and make the top 4 race easier for us. cool

I will be glad if spurs finish beneath us in the race for top 4 and Loserpool lose the league by one point .

Baba, JWP is one of those "Big fishes in a small pond" in my opinion. You are right about his skillset, however, they may not be replicated if he joins a more competitive team with higher ambition like Arsenal in comparison to his current situation at Southampton. Arteta is very demanding and a stickler to what he believes in with little flexibility because he pretty much micro manages his players when he is coaching and that can be a problem for players like JWP. All in all, I like JWP but I don't think he is what Arsenal needs.

Man City lost because they have a poor defensive game plan.

That's one area I praise Arteta, leading 1-0 by 80mins, he would send in Holding and that's game over.

Pep could have done the same, but he has no defensive game plan. That goes back to the philosophy of attack winning you games but defense ensures the title.

You begin with good attack but can only go far by good defending.

You beat me to this . There’s no way Arteta will lose that match from 1-0 at 80 minutes lailai!

He will park the bus and set up a counter attack plan. While Madrid was busy pressing city was just so soft and giving less commitment to defending . Arteta boys make sure u sweat before u even see 1 , not to talk of 3 goals in the same match . Chai!

Lol na real wahala you wan start but lots of sense here . It was a crucial game and all that was needed was the art of defending to close out which man city did not do. I also felt they were too overconfident when they started making their subs taking out offensive threats which was kind of an insult to a 13 time winner of the champions league.

Well pep won't change and I expect this to happen to his team time and again until he too learns to adjust to conditions at times.

Lol I think a management standpoint analogy was made here on Auba's case which I must commend the contributor.

Arteta is definitely not the best coach in the world but his standpoint on discipline as regarding Auba was 100 percent on point.

We talk about attitude and mentality all the time and this revolves around our everyday lives as well. You cant say because you are the highest earner and in form , that now gives you the right to behave unruly. Pride goes before a fall and all he had to do then was apologize to his team mates and correct his attitude. It's this same attitude that spirals unto the pitch of play and before you know it, the person loses everything.

I for one do not condone any form of Indiscipline and rightly so should any coach if he wants to be in charge of his team.

I wish Auba the best and cannot forget what he has done for Arsenal in a hurry but sincerely hope he can get it together and focus on football with the right attitude on and off the pitch for his own sake.
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jencejyde(m): 8:15am On May 05, 2022
The other day I was watching Man u and was disgusted that a 37 year old Ronaldo was busting his guts making runs offensively and defensively and a certain rashford and Sancho were just jogging all over the pitch.

Some of these players do not understand that football comes with discipline of the highest order for you to not only succeed but remain successful. Plus your active years begin to wind down fast if you have not achieved anything soon enough.

I just hope and pray that our own young lads do not get carried away and remain focused until they get to the level where they start winning laurels consistently. I also commend the coaching staff for weeding away bad influence from the team so that their growth is not stunted attitude and mentality wise.

Moreover we have past auba and ozil era where those 2 will be strolling and adding to their teammates problem
In this era even those on bench are pushing those on field to press...no peace for the wicked grin grin

Dude rest, both teams were woeful defensively, even Liverpool against Villarreal was woeful defensively. The formidable attack helped those teams to the final.

Immediately Madrid score the third they brought in ceballos, asensio and valquez
The only defender he bought on was just to replace injured militao
Don't worry agenda must agend grin grin

Exactly,

Infact Peps mistake yesterday was going defensive with Fernandinho instead of tightening the noose on real madrid when he had the upper hand

I have not ruled out the formidable attacks. But what made the difference yesterday was the defensive plan of both teams.

It's a simple philosophy and it surprises me how you guys can't get it. At least get the idea even if you don't believe it.

This thinking is used even in warfare. I mean the balance between attacking and defending.

To win a battle you need a strong attack but if you will win the war, you will need a strong defense. I can't simplify this further. This is lay man knowledge.

When I say defense it does not necessarily mean bringing in defenders. It means have a defensive plan or tactics same with attacking. I hate doing school boy explanations.

Man City probably has the best attack in PL yet have no striker in their team. What does that tell you? Attacking or defending has to do with tactics not just personnel.

Pep's mistake was not in the players he brought on but in the tactics. He was all out attacking with no defensive plan even when the game was about to end.

What made the difference yesterday was Rodrygo and he’s an attacker.

Every other thing is megedefegede.

If defense wins you league Athletico should have made it to the final with the haram football it plays

Which warfare? Russia has been on the offensive in Ukraine while Ukraine is only tryin to pushback. Tell me which of them has suffered more casualties in human and infrastructure?

What was Rodrygo doing all through the 90mins before scoring? It could have been Benzema or anybody. Once that City defense began to leak, anybody would take their chance.

Ukraine which you raised has a poor defensive strategy. Russian troops were stationed bear their borders for over a month yet they had no plan for possible invasion. A friend there told me that life was so normal the very night the Russian invasion began. They are a poor example of defense.

What I mean by attack wins battles but defense wins war is exemplified in the Vietnam war.

You can conquer and occupy a city, but if you can't defend it, you will eventually lose.
