All corps members were asked to bow to greet the traditional rulers but many corps from Igbo refuse claiming he is not their gods... meanwhile it is just a sign of respect in the Yoruba land.

Back to the topic, if you can't identify with a people, it can be misinterpreted as forcing your tradition on them.

If you want to win votes, do all the strategy to win votes. Your intention is not important as your action.

What you and the Op are saying in essence is that a wolf in sheep's clothing stands a better chance in becoming Nigeria president than someone who shows his real self?

People sign deals/contracts wearing sleeveless cloths and shorts in other countries but in Nigeria you must combine the dress of two traditional rulers and four bank managers while going for ordinary job interview that the salary won't be more than 30k.

In the build up of 2015 election, Buhari traveled to South eats dressed in Igbo traditional attire and even took a title, what happened after the election? How are Nigerians fairing under him?

If at this stage of the North, it is clothes that is their priority, then they should get leaders that prioritize such nonsense and live with the consequences.

Besides, this is just a consultation phase for the delegates,and they already know who he is.

Orji Kalu has a record of corruption. So his wearing barbariga would have limited effect on the electorate. Obi has a record of achievement, so wearing Babariga would add to his appeal and aura in the north, among deeply religious and ethnocentric voters. In politics every vote counts.
