Former President Goodluck Jonathan has rejected the nomination and expression of interest forms that a group bought for him.

Daily Trust had reported how the group acquired the forms in Abuja on Monday night.

Nigerians had expressed shock over the gesture. But in a statement issued on his behalf hours after news of the form purchase went viral, Jonathan said he did not know those behind it.

“The Attention of the Office of former President Goodluck Jonathan, has been drawn to the purported purchase of the Presidential Nomination and Expression of Interest form, of the All Progressives Congress APC, in his name, by a group named “FULANI GROUP “

“We wish to inform the General Public, particularly Nigerians, that Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has no knowledge whatsoever of the personalities behind the purported purchase of the form, in his name, not have any relationship with the association.

“It should be noted, that as at the moment, Dr Goodluck Jonathan is not a member of the APC and therefore could not have accepted such gesture, from those behind the move.

Part of the political maneuvering needed to confirm his popularity.

I am only wondering how PMB’s boys on Nairaland would defend GEJ in APC. I am waiting to hear from the likes of Amaechi, Keyamo and BAT regarding GEJ’s membership of their party.

We’ve said it severally that Jonathan is welcomed to join the race for APC’s presidential nomination. He will have to go through the primary process like every other aspirants if he wants the ticket. Whatever decision he makes, nobody cares.

You should rather be worried how those wailing wailers who has christened the APC as Islamic party & has refused to moved on from GEJ electoral defeat will feel. Seeing that their beloved GEJ who they've killed & maimed for cus of this same Islamic party has now pitch tent with his 'traducers'. What a pity &a shame!

I can't even imagine the confused feelings of those wailing wailers. It'll be hard on them I guess. Anyway ffk did the same to them but unfortunately they're slow learners.

This is nothing but a plot to further divide the south. The more one group of people gets divided, the stronger the other group becomes.

Why waste funds to buy an overly-priced form for someone who is not even a member of your party, doesn't even know you and still complain of hunger around you?

Many of these contenders are being lured with these acts to divide them and cause enmity everywhere. Unfortunately, all the political parties want is just money from everyone and a ticket for just one. Who is fooling who?
