That's why he began materializing in different bodies so that his friends who knew him very well can't recognize him again by appearance but through his actions! John 20:14-16 compare to Luke 24:15-35

It is true that it's the Holy Spirit who convicts and converts. Our job is to do the preaching. But the scripture talks about agents of darkness disguised as ministers of light.

In addition, those who embrace lies had once have the opportunity to believe the truth. Hence the scripture says;

I didn't just read their books. I studied with them, went to kingdom hall meetings too. Looked into them and tested their doctrine from scripture, over a period of years! I know them well, I know them very closely!

Jesus' body was taken away from the thumb by those angels because it's the sacrifice for our sin so it must be taken to heaven to be presented before God's throne!
It's after it has been accepted that God's Holy Spirit was poured on the Apostles at Pentecost to show that Jesus' sacrifice has been accepted in the heavens and salvation is sure for obedient mankind.
I have shown you several scriptures pointing to the fact that Jesus resurrected as a spirit being not with that body.
But if the HellFire nightmare your pastors infused in your head is your problem i don't think i can help you out of that.

Jesus knew very well that none of his disciples could understand how Christ's resurrection will be that's why he told them:


“I still have many things to say to you, but you are not able to bear them now. However, when that one comes, the spirit of the truth, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak of his own initiative, but what he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things to come. That one will glorify me, because he will receive from what is mine and will declare it to you. John 16:12-14

They never heard of spirit resurrection before so it's until they've received the Holy Spirit that they can decipher such a thing! 1Corinthians 15:44-45

So Jesus has to assure them that it's him but they can't understand why he has to become a spirit after his resurrection!
