Shey it was yesterday we read how a passenger who has never flown an airplane landed an airplane successfully with the help of airport traffic controllers after the pilot had a medical emergency.

One question I kept asking myself while I read the story was if the airport traffic controller was a pilot himself or they were just trained like that.

Imagine such thing happened in our Nigeria or Cameroun… the kind crash wey that plane for crash eh….

But oh! I just remembered the Colonial Masters left South Africa as late as 1993 but the country is still in shambles from the few years of leadership by blacks.

That's because there was someone to guide him on the ground. Even in the States, not all similar situations end well...some planes still crash .




Most likely they got a pilot on the phone, or the controller has a pilot licence...which does happen in the states (Pilot training in Nigeria is expensive).

I believe that they got a pilot who lived nearby to do the talktrhough. Also, it was a small airport,and most likely there were pilots hanging around...




How then do you explain the plane crash that killed Bryant the NBA player and his daughter.? Or several other plane crashes in the states over the last several years?

Including some in similar circumstances?




This is a completely meaningless comment. Plane crashes happen abroad, including in the 'colonial masters' country.

Plus the reason why we are underdeveloped in Africa is simple.

1.We don't pay taxes at the rate the colonialists pay in their countries...so cities cannot afford municipal services of high quality such as waste management, and good airports.

2.We don't pay for electric power at market rate...so the power sector cannot generate enough power to fix things.

3.We do not even want to pay the kind of fees that would enable government run schools of aviation have good equipment to train pilots well.

4.We don;t want to do the hard work to hold politicans to account.

5.We are a Dutch diseased economy....meaning we are as broke as Venezuela...which has far more white people than we do.

Stop this racist moaning, and start facing reality.

Excusing the service providers and the government while blaming the poor masses whose minimum wage is less than 60 dollars, but still find ways to survive under the excruciating economy amidst reckless and shameless looting by politicians and service providers.
