Nigerians are still in disbelief over the killing of Deborah Samuel, a 200 level female student of Shehu Shagari College of Education.

It was reported that a student riots ensued over Samuel for making snide remarks about the the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) on a student WhatsApp group.

Public Relations Officer, ASP Sanusi Abubakar in a statement on Thursday said students retrieved Ms. Samuel from a security room where she was kept for safety and stoned and burned her to death.

The news has since sent the Nigerian media space into frenzy as netizens heavily condemn the gruesome act. A photo fast circulating social media shows the remains of Deborah Samuel after she was set ablaze by an irate mob on Thursday afternoon.

Police Arrest Two Suspects

Police in Sokoto state have swung into action after receiving a distress call from the tertiary institution, Daily Post reports.

Public Relations Officer, ASP Sanusi Abubakar gave an update in a statement Thursday evening.

He said at about 0900hrs, a distress call was received from Shehu Shagari College of Education.

Some persons have been arrested with more faces spotted in viral video to be ‘nailed soon’ the police chief said.

This issue must not die down, we need full investigation and the perpetrators of the heinous act must be brought to book

It was a cruel, a wicked and a heart rendering death.

Christians no get unity normally. When it comes to issues like that,your fellow Christians go run leave you. They will call you oversabi. Most especially, those when first get beef for you over nothing, inside una fellowship or church. I don see them tire,that time when I still dey go church.

I was just wondering if it were reversed. Say a hijab wearing female is attacked by Christian men and beaten and burnt like this?

Nigerian youths in Sokoto must rise up, take to the streets and protest that those killers get the death penalty. We must follow this case, they must show us the killers on camera being arrested.

May her soul rest in peace, we should be talking about Referendum and not the election come 2023 because it's obvious this people are not tolerant and are not for peace
