Jodera:You sure you know the dynamics of the two players wen you talk about? Holding to man-mark Son? Really? How? Where? You are asking Holding who lacks pace, barely has consecutive great games to man mark a tricky, pacy and technically gifted Son? That was all shades of wrong as far as selections go. Holding had no business starting that game in my opinion when White was healthy. He struggled to keep up with Son and besides, you never ask your CB to man mark a player because it is very dangerous. You ask one of your midfielders to do the job of man-marking and that is part of where Arteta exposed his inexperience. Once Conte saw Arteta’s decision to use one of his CBs, worsestill the weaker of the 2 to man-mark his skilled attacker, he pretty much asked that all balls go through Son because it was an easy matchup! You don’t do that. You don’t ask your CBs to man mark, everyone should know this. If your CBs must man-mark that means one of your full back has to invert or your DM falls into the open position because of the movement. Son was just moving Holding all around the pitch, brining him higher and higher up the pitch to chop fouls, remove him from his position, took him to areas he was uncomfortable with thus exposing his lack of speed while leaving Gabu exposed. These are some of the reasons I don’t trust Arteta’s understanding of tactics. He continued with this rubbish despite being 2-0 down without making any adjustments. |

Spy360:Well, at least I just hope the boys move on and move forward. We still have two important finals to win. At least we've lost the match, let's us don't lose the war. That's what I'm looking forward to. I won't allow ystdy game despair me |

50d33q:when we attack We win mostly, I agree. The only game we defended and won was against Chelsea and that was because of mostly Nketiah desire to pounce on loose balls and mistake. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 6:20pm On May 13, 2022 |
Roland17:Well, I agree with you about using a DM (maybe Elneny) to be all over Son instead of Holding. I think that's where the game was lost especially as Holding is more than rugged. The season is still salvageable tho. Let's just hope they win their other 2 matches. Our next season really depends on this season tbh. |

Roland17:Absolutely. That's why I blame Arteta instead of Holding. See how Paul Merson slap am https://dailypost.ng/2022/05/13/epl-you-want-to-be-like-guardiola-paul-merson-slams-mikel-arteta-for-arsenal-defeat-to-tottenham/ |

Spy360:Nah I disagree. You cannot tell a high line from a set piece. The PK was from a set piece and Cedric fouled Son at the byline. Has nothing to do with a high line. The second goal was from a corner kick (Saka was fouled by the way) and after a flick, Harry Kane was at the back post to head it in. Nothing to do with high line as well. If you want to see a high line watch how Son got in behind Dias and Matip when Spurs played City and Liverpool. They had no single one v one chance against you guys because Arteta took that away from them. Their crucial goals came from a dodgy penalty and a corner kick. |

50d33q:First it was we could get results 50-50 vs top 5, but no small team were brave to beat Arsenal. Then slowly, expect no result vs top 5, and small teams became braver. Gradually till now Expect nothing except luck and small teams now beat Arsenal like championship side. To recover this pride is not hard. Just that it brings impatient. This was was Emery was tryna do. It didn't end well. Smh. If we see ucl, barely any excitement will follow. Too bad Then |

Jodera:I disagree on the speed part. You will need speed if you want to man mark Son or Salah. Or else they'll gbe e l'andicap. Especially Son. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by daveP(m): 12:22am On May 14, 2022 |
Arteta has proven in all redcard situations that he has no plan b. Especially when he tweaks things to cover the red. It only makes things worse. I recall one time Mou was training inter guys to play with 9 players in anticipation of a red. That training paid off well. |

| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by germaphobe(m): 7:21am On May 14, 2022 |
The Tottenham game is passed already, I'm never talking about it again. Shits happens but how we bounce back is what matters, great coaches do Bleep up sometimes too. If una want kill and slaughter Arteta here till next year, he did what he thought was right with the limited squad he had. The fact that Saka is a among the epl player of the year shortlist can never be overemphasized, just check out the names and age of the other contenders and you will realize how far "relegated threatened" Arsenal has come this season. Up next Newcastle....... |

What we just Need is 6 points!! If we get the 6points there's no how anybody will say Arteta didn't do a good job. I mean, we'll make top 4 for the first time in 5yrs then some people think we don't deserve it? You think it doesn't deserve for us to be excited? The aim was to get top4 remember, not thinking about its effect next season on the team. When we reach that next season, we'll know how to cross it Moreover, we should be thinking long term. For this team to improve in quality and standard we need UCL to do that. Imagine Vlahovic rejecting us cos one of the reasons is UCL and Gabriel Jesus is even thinking twice to join us cos he wants to see if we'll qualify first. How much more others of our choice which we can't even get cos of same reason. How will we improve if we'll always be getting 2nd rated players? Lastly, if we win our 2 matches, we'll be getting 72 points. Even during Wenger time 72 points most times ensure top 4. Sometimes even less. If this doesn't denote progress over previous seasons, I don't know what is. I just feel we should calm down and not allow emotions of the Nld loss not see the progress this team have made. I just hope we win the last two matches. These boys deserves it for their work and sacrifice. |

germaphobe:Saka being there tells you the growth the guy had over the years plus the team itself I'm so happy for him. It's a great feat to be nominated considering the pool of talents this season had I just hope he wins the Young PFA even if Arnold is a great favourite to win it |

I don't like this man but why is he not in manager of the season.. Only pep picked more motm award than him, he deserve a shot imo Maybe because he doesn't have tactics and can't read games |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 12:50pm On May 14, 2022 |
50d33q:True. I don't know the reason why Vieira would be there. I think he's the odd one out cos I don't know the exceptional thing he did (result wise) aside improving their play. Even if Arteta ought not to be there, I think Graham potter or Moyes deserves a shot. But if I were to vote, it'll be Eddie Howe. What he did with Newcastle from December till now is nothing short of a miracle |
