Buhari was more of a Kaduna indigene, because that was where he mostly lived and made home. Katsina was just his ancestral home, so he couldn't have had much of a direct political influence over Katsina. Certainly not before he became President.

And as an aside according to Atiku, Buhari could hardly speak Fulfulde [the indigenous tongue of most Fulani] anyway. Going further, Atiku said that he was more Fulani than Buhari could ever be.

Besides, Buhari never ruled the state of Katsina, unlike CRA who has lost political control of his home state/geopolitical zone now for several years, even after having been at the helm of government there either as the head of the legislature or erstwhile Chief Executive continuously for decades!

That's the point.

To me, CRA does not possess the attributes of a rugged politician who can deliver meaningful votes or following.

But hey, what do I know, right?

Yeye analogy. Buhari has always been popular in the North so, everyone knew the North was sure for him. Amaechi on the other hand cannot win his LGA and his choice will make APC lose out in the west also.

I have always .mentioned it here. It will be ridiculous for any sane delegate to give Amaechi his vote cos that will be handing over the Presidency to PDP. Wike has reduced him to zero politically.
