Good day everyone. Please how long can someone wait after visa approval before entry into Canada (first time entry)?
My visitor's visa was approved on March 30. Though I initially planned to travel in March but had to postpone till around August since plan changed due to little delay in approving my application.
Note: I have a multiple entry visa.
Thank you.

Just thinking which one is faster?

Hi, please after getting visit visa and landing in Canada. Spouse in Nigeria. How can one convert the visit visa to work permit pls? Cos the idea is to Japa. What are the options available to stay in Canada legitimately

Even though there's a temporal public policy in place for converting VV to work permit, I don't think it's advisable to discuss it here as this page could be monitored and consequently there could be an increased number of VV denials for genuine visitors if they noticed people are not really sincere in just visiting....who knows. Feel free to send me an email for further discussion on this. Cheers

Good day guys, To those that submitted Vv via the new portal. I'm about to submit VV for my spouse using my own visa-approved portal.

Please I need a checklist document I need to upload to support the application. Aside from the Invitation letter, LOE, Study permit, SIN, Apartment contract agreement, School ID, is there any other document I need to add again?

Thanks in anticipation.

I have read some pages back and haven't seen anyone that applied for tourist visa without a Valid USA visa being granted visa.
Some other people have asked same question but I couldn't see responses or maybe I haven't gone back very well (I still reading back)

I understand that they are accepting tourist visa applications, my question is;

ARE THEY GRANTING VISA TO TOURIST? LIKE I WANT TO JUST GO TO CANADA FOR VACATION PURPOSE?
.
If you have been issued visa for vacation, please respond.

Good morning guys
How are you dealing with the wait? I've been checking my email every few minutes to see if there's a message from IRCC... e nor easy.
Please, those who got passport requests recently should drop an update in the group to keep our hope alive.
Is it possible that the Ukraine situation is causing the delay? Make them show us love as soon as possible...Biko
This page needs to be lively again.
Enjoy your day.

It depends on who process your file. But the chance is slim without a robust travel history and your financial status. Before Canada used to give visa to tourists more than family visit but now they are unwilling most especially from Africa. This is because most of the tourist visas they issued in the past ended up claiming asylum

This is one of the reasons why I have not applied. I am still contemplating if I should apply as a tourist or use letter of invitation. Although I qualify for can + because of my usa visa, but I still want to be very sure before I apply.

Hello Olasubomy,

Kindly check your mail Thank you.

olasubomy:
Something to cheer us up!

PPR Alert:

I applied for a visit visa for my dad and mum to attend my convocation ceremony barely almost two months ago.

Timeline:

Applied via the IRCC New Portal = March 27, 2022
Biometric Request – March 28, 2022.
Biometrics Done – April 6
Biometrics updated same day for Mother but April 11 for Father. (Note, I did not file group applications for them because I did not have much knowledge as I do now, so I would say group application is better if you are applying for both parents).
Then the long wait started – I was aware that my application had not yet passed standard processing times, so I had to be very diplomatic about how I flood IRCC with emails, so I first contacted the MP of my region.

MP contacted on April 25 – I sent a plea for their follow-up assistance with IRCC.
MP Feedback on April 26 – They informed me there is nothing they can do on the visit visa that is still within processing times of 102 days. They even told me they doubted the decision would come on time. I did not take no for an answer. I sent a response appealing that the graduation is in May, but all went to voice mail grin grin grin; they did not respond to me again, maybe when they saw my wahala was too much smiley smiley smiley

This experience with the MP has taught me only God has the final decision over your life.

I started thinking of the next step. I chatted with Fankrobbn1 chief guru from the Canada Student thread, since he knows better than me on things like this. He encouraged me that immigration hardly refuses parents as they have lesser flight risk as long as the person does not have a criminal record. Fankrobbn1 is a very confident immigration guru, and I like him for that.

I started sending periodical webform to London, Lagos, Abuja, and Nairobi and even decided to add the superpowers, New York grin. I compassionately coined the mail (compassionate mail) appealing for my parents to be part of the ceremony. Abuja has no web form, so I sent emails to Abuja IRCC.

I had barely done that for a week before Abuja IRCC sent an email to check the portal for an important letter, and lo and behold, I saw their PPR today.

Documents Submitted:

• My personal stamped Canadian Bank statement –I took a calculated risk - I did not submit bank statements for my parent because my dad does not have much. Only my mum has a bank statement, so I thought about how I will submit a bank statement for mum and none for dad—the reason for the decision. But on the second note, that might work for a group application.
• Air flight ticket – fully paid – I attached evidence.
• Airbnb- Fully paid – I attached evidence.
• Letter of invitation from my school
• Confirmation of invitation letter drafted by me.
• Copies of Previous USA and UK visas
• Copies of Governors Consent to Land (C of O)
• Just two random old family pictures showing me with my parents on essential days (Picture of my ICAN induction and my dad's birthday)
• The file size was beyond 2 mb, so I sent the major doc on the portal and sent the remaining through a webform, and email with a letter of explanation addressed to the Deputy High Commission.

I wish you guys still expecting God speed and positive decision soon. You will testify soon.

Good day,
Please I have a question.
I applied for a visitor visa since January to visit my husband, I did my biometric January 11th, and up till now I haven’t gotten any feedback from IRCC.
I checked the processing time from Nigeria, sometimes it shows 88days, sometimes 92 days. But mine is 5 months now, I have sent web forms but no response, I don’t know what else to do.

They are not representing the minister, rather they work for the IRCC which is one the Canadian agency in charge of immigration. The minister is just an appointee overseeing it's affairs.

I just gave the popular format folks use, I used it too OR some people just use the address of their representing Canadian embassy or consulate in their country any one sha, the main thing is your documents

But if it is confidential and not so urgent, please give me till next week then send me a reminder.

It is a good step if the member of parliament is willing to enquire about your application on your behalf.

Another step you can make is to send webforms to IRCC to appeal for the speedy processing of your application. Also, send periodical mail to Abuja IRCC, those guys can be very useful sometimes.

I am sure there would be some work on your application, don't worry if your eligibility has not started. Sometimes eligibility remark does not change till approval comes.

All the best!

I think we are here to learn. All VOs are representatives of the Minister of Immigration. They carry out their duty on behalf of the Minister. That is why if you want to challenge their decision in court, lawyers don't challenge the VO, they make the Minister of Immigration the respondent.
Go and ask any lawyer. In a nutshell, any request you make in your bid to enter Canada is made to the Immigration Minister.
This is the reason most VOs disregard some letters applicants write a times.
