Common, that guy is a stranger and should be treated as one. If you have a course in a strange city, you can lodge in a cheap hotel or find "friends" you trust that live in the said city. That is what hotels are meant for. I even prefer to stay in a hotel than to stay with a friend and be nuisance to him.
