in fact I would have agreed with you if the Nigerian judicial system is working. There many criminals who are walking free, some are been given political appointment,some are given scholarship while the law abiding citizens are dieing everyday.

How do we vet that the individual being killed is truly who they say he is?

What if he really is being killed for something else e.g. being the love interest of one of his executors girl?

He may well be a killer but there are more forensic/scientific/logical ways of determining this for posterity.

The problem with this kind of "justice" is that you can be accused wrongfully by your enemies and be executed. Only for the truth to come out later.

Even people who are convicted and sentenced to death in court, still have options to appeal the judgement while waiting in death row.

The risk and consequences of killing an innocent man (innocent of the crime he has been accused of) is so grievous that it were better that 100 criminals are let free than 1 innocent man be killed.
