19 children, 2 teachers has just been killed in Texas elementary school shooting in the U.S.

According to NPR.org, 27 school shootings have taken place so far this year.

Also, the U.S. has surpassed 200 mass shootings this year
The Gun Violence Archive, an independent data collection organisation, has counted 212 mass shootings that have occurred so far this year, as of Tuesday. It defines a mass shooting as an incident in which four or more people were shot or killed, excluding the shooter.

So, my question is: Why can't the US government just amend their constitution and remove guns from the society.

Is there a detailed answer why this is not possible?

Someone help me out here.

A) because their country was build on carrying a gun and USING IT
B) because its such a dangerous place, many NEED to carry a gun to protect themselves
C) because the US constitution clearly states that:" the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

If we all had guns in Nigeria,Fulani terrorists would respect themselves.

Because US is a terrorist supper power, without sophisticated guns in the hands of the citizens its would be easier to invade by combination of countries. But now its difficult to penetrate because its security annual budget is bigger than 3 or more countries in Africa total budget. US and UK are the major problem of the world.

The people won't agree. Arguably in the US the power lies with the people, so I think it has more to do with the citizens.
Though I believe many are speaking against the act in their constitution, but as they say "majority will always have their way.

Hmm i see, referring to point no 3. So this seems like the main problem. They have to repeal and replace the Second Amendment law to actually stop what is going on now.

Now I need to research exactly why the law was there in the first place.

the country was built on such notion, and i doubt you can now suddenly repeal a constitution that was ratified in 1791... sadly, this is who they are, this is part of their DNA, you cant possibly try to change that now. this will just create a civil war in the US!

BTW the arm/ammunition business ONLY IN THE US, is a $30B yearly biz... around the world, the same biz is half a trillion dollars yearly biz.

I get you, so they are making so much money profiting from sales of guns that repealing that law will also affect the nations income.

the NRA (National Rifle Association) is so powerful that they will fight any law against the sale/carry of arm in the US, through lobbying etc... even if congress tries to vote against sale/carry of arms, it will never go through because NRA has majority on payroll to vote against any law that would affect them. as they cleverly states:"more guns makes the country safe"

here is a clue: NRA spends $250M a year to make sure no such law gets voted, through paying lobbyist, presidential campaign donation, senators donations etc etc, while all the gun control groups combined are lucky if they have $20M (combined) to spend yearly to ban the sale of guns.

A free country that eats life… It’s scary sometimes out in the states!! You can get hit for just having fun or being black..

Gun manufacturers make a lot of money, and they contribute a lot of money to politics in the United States.

Because the US is not a zoo like Nigeria.

Because all these monsters called 2nd amendment advocates and their sponsors are all in NRA's ( National Rifle Association) pockets.
