Why DPR soldiers that fought in Mauripol to Lugansk which is near 300km when they can fight for their Donetsk at Marinka or Avdiivka which is less than 100km


Lugansk is 95% complete Lpr has only to focus on Severedonesk and Lisichansk the rest are for dpr

Marinka, Slavic area, Konstantinovka, Bakmut, Kramatorsk Dpr still has around 30 to 35% of territory in Ukriane hands ( not counting recent successes)

There are separate Cossack battalions operating in DPR around Avdiivka and Horlivka and none in the LPR even the well known 2nd Cossack MRR regiment is in Horlivka

Since the operation began both DPR and LPR has not operated in the same place

BTW it is the Liberation of Donbas so they should be the ones doing the most fighting as we've seen with Russian providing Artillery and air cover and tactical battle groups to support them while in some cases the Russian BTG do the main advance while DPR or LPR follow up with a mop up

It was the Russians who took Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv
Both the DPR or LPR has not left their region



Morale is at an all time time since the start of SO.

Just today, 105th and 107th regiments of the DPR have refused to continue fighting for Russia.

When Russia took control over parts of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts it didn't annex or unite them. They created two states: DPR and LPR, which were formally sovereign and separate from each other. This procedural decision has backfired now with DPR fighters refusing to go to the LPR.

Watch this attached video with fighters of DPR's 107th and 105th regiments. They just spent three months fighting for Mariupol. Now they complain that their commanders want to send them to fight in the LPR which is a "completely different republic", presenting them as "some Cossack volunteers" which is a lie because they are not Cossacks but from DPR.

Cossacks are considered nomads or "free men" dwelling in the northern hinterlands of the Black and Caspian seas. They had a tradition of independence and normally received privileges from the Russian government in return for military services but these are not Cossacks as they clearly stated in the video.

The lack of motivation of these guys is clear, they openly say they don't want to be the "cannon fodder" and "non-mercenaries" who were not even paid for fighting in Mariupol.


They don't want to be used as the unpaid cannon fodder. So they have now decided to utilize the wrong and deceptive procedures of Russia against them as they refuse to fight for Russia.

All their arguments are procedural:

- We are DPR citizens being sent to a "completely different republic"
- They listed us as "Cossack volunteers". We are neither
- They mobilised us without a medical checkup
- They want to trick us from writing a complaint to the military attorney

The Pro Russian soldiers from the 105th Regiments on the other hand say and I quote:

- We are not soldiers. We used to be college students and workers of various enterprises who were forcibly mobilised into the DPR army
- They told us we'll only maintain law and order or stand in the third line of defence. Bullshit. They sent us to attack Mariupol instead

- The medical examination is compulsory during the mobilisation. Nobody examined us. Many have chronic illnesses
- They want to send us to fight in the LPR. But we are citizens of the DPR, not of the LPR
- We already suffered casualties in Mariupol. Only 60% remain in service

Many in the DPR army are unwilling to fight any further. They were forcibly mobilised and now their discontent reached the point when they dared to show an open disobedience. Fighting is too risky they say.

In fact, they consider fighting riskier for the DPR troops than for the Russian regulars. Russian government is way more comfortable with using them as the cannon fodder than with using the Russian citizens. After all, DPR and LPR casualties are not even counted as "Russian" ones.

Since DPR casualties are not counted as "Russian" , you'll mobilise in Donetsk everyone you can catch and then send them to attack the massive Ukrainian fortifications. You run out of the Donetsk males of course, but on the bright side you keep official Russian casualties low.

Once again they are seriously low on motivation and refuse to be deceived and used as cannon fodder any longer.

The DPR has alot of soldiers. This battalion which is composed of untrained soldiers is just simply unwilling to fight for Luhansk. They want the people of Luhansk to fight for themselves. This is the issue here and can easily be resolved so far the Russians understand their plight. So far, DPR and Russia has a good relationship and a group of disgruntled soldiers won't change that.

You are sounding like the liberation of the Donbass was forced upon by Russia. Get it in your head. The people wanted it. They have not been happier than they are now in the past 8 years. The minister of defence of Russia held an indoor session with journalists about a month ago and in that meeting he quoted that Russia has lost about 15,000 men with another 7,000 missing. This was a month ago when Ukraine's figures were at about 23000 of Russian soldiers killed.

Add 15,000 to 7000and that is 22,000 which puts their figures at around same figures as what Ukraine gave at that time.

One of those in attendance at the closed meeting posted on their media website and mentioned what the minister of defence said with reference to his words.

30mins later they deleted it and claimed their website was hacked but by then screenshots had already been taken
