Kogi State Government has kicked against moves by the state chapter of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to mobilize civil servants to register as members of Labour Party (LP). In a statement credited to the state’s Chairman of the NLC, Comrade Onuh Edoka, the labour leader was said to have asked members of the newly constituted political steering committee of LP to ensure that all workers in the state’s civil service were brought into the fold of the political party.
In a swift reaction, the state’s Head of Service, Mrs Hannah Odiyo warned civil servants in the state against joining the Labour Party (LP) or any other political party. Odiyo gave the warning in a statement issued in Lokoja on Tuesday.
She urged all civil servants in Kogi to stay completely out of partisan politics, advising them to be guided by the provisions of Public Service Rule No: PSRS-030422 and 030423, which prohibited civil or public servants from joining any political party, noting that the rule only permitted them to register and cast votes during elections.

Why should NLC Kogi chapter even think about such move? When Anambra state chapter has not even thought about such?

Hmmm.

The Labour Party has an existing structure after all.
The Nigerian Labour Congress organisation structure can be activated for Peter Obi in all 36 state offices.

Although they are meant to be a pressure group, rescuing nigeria from the collapse from the hands of o kleptomaniac politicians, old and young may be a noble venture worth pursuing on behalf of Nigerian workers.

Once the Nigeria Labour Congress adopts Peter Obi as its face...its all over for both APC and PDP

The Workers Party!!!! This is getting interesting.

structure don't win elections, voters sympathy does... If voters love a particular party, they will burn houses for that party. Ask oshimole how insignificant ACN brought him into power from a PDP strong hold.

It's not all the time you chest best, sometime you have to leave your chest and let your brain do the work. His decamping will cost him votes, even a little boys knows that.... He had Benin in his pocket, but now he lost some votes and it's not just Benin alone but across Nigeria.... The few he had up north wirod have been courtesy PDP. NNPP would have given him an edge, Obi is not our regular politician, he has a good heart and that's why he is having problems because he can't go dirty like em rogues.

partly benin? And you believe labour party will sweep Edo? You are a joker and I don't need to exchange words with a dreamer like you. Though we edolites don't bite based on party but stop dreaming of labour party winning any state in South South unless Maybe on twitter and Facebook.

You have forgotten the house of assembly election will be held along presidency and the major voters down South are not even youths but women, now do the maths before chest beating...

If obi had gone with apga who to some extent has a good name or a new party just as APC came and promised something new it would have been better than old rickety, dusty labour party yha even YPP or ADC will flush!!!

Once election reach your eye go clear unless obi go align, even for East na small margin him bi win some places and now the southwest is gone and so is the north, how him want take become president Again Mr Benin is in Obi's pocket? Obi has lost, it's official..... Labour party was the final nail, I was happy he left PDP but expected a better alignment not with LP of all party.

me and you dey talk the same thing na Bros. Oshimole as at then had the support of two former governors both military and democracy regime as part of his party. The richest man in Benin was behind him and a lot of others, including leaders of various motor parks and bike parks (before it's ban)... Now tell me how will such a man not pull weight? He lost the main election but these top guys made sure he got his mandate when they went to court in addition to the fact that yaradua was impartial.

Obi should have gone to a party that already has established politicians, this is the alignment I am talking about. It Is these politicians that do the dirty work, the online Twitter people do not know how to convince voters, voters are convinced by those who they see as public figures and hold in high esteem... I don't see labour party as a party that can pull such a staunt.

Well, if the civil servant wants their minimum wage to reach #200000 by 2027 then they should ignore the politicians and build their own party and take their destiny in their hands, if civil servant had ignored these politicians in the past, they should have been the ones in power instead of this present crop of touts.

I get your point bro... If we both want a better Nigeria to come in 2023 and beyond, we have a big role to play. Remember party structures are people ( You and I ). We can start by making those without PVC go get theirs and also make out time each day to talk to those that aren't on social media in our localities. I don't vote party but individual. I will happily vote for Osibanjo or any credible candidate too outside Obi...

Let's add 8years to our, children's, and relatives' ages from 2023... We all need to join hands together for a better Nigeria. We shouldn't play this politicians game by insulting ourselves constantly online and offline while they dime with themselves in destroying us the more.

Let's Make Our Vote Count 2023...

Easy, civil servants has had enough of touts in politics controlling their destiny, a secondary school your in house of rep earns more than a professor, every god-damned thing is upside down in this country, and yet they are wondering why nigeria is the poverty capital of the world, labour unions have political party in real countries not touts in agbada.
