Dr Goodluck Jonathan's spokesperson had announced several times that he was not contesting the election, yet some people, for their own interest, kept spreading rumours that he was contesting. On one occasion the spokesman said that they were not going to make any more comments about the matter because they had said all that there was to say about it. These people that were spreading the rumours then said that Dr Jonathan was being silent and that it was a sign that he was interested. This is despite the fact that his people had made it clear that he wasn't contesting.

It was as if the rumour mongers believed that they knew Dr Jonathan better than he knew himself.

Any party can win elections in a democracy. Be it APC , PDP, Labour or SDP. The most important thing is democracy be allowed to thrive. Nigeria remains one irrespective of the party in power. And don't forget ,the difference between APC and PDP is like that of 6 and half a dozen. So, clean campaign and don't be used for hatred and division in the polity.
