Let us be realistic, with or without Tinubu's outburst, Buhari would never have supported him for the Presidency. Tinubu is too naive and docile like most Yorubas to have believed that Buhari would support him.

His chances were almost bulletproof before his latest outburst.

Regardless, Tinubu earned Arewa’s support and even though his recent indiscretion might cost him, it is unlikely to be dire enough to make the North/Buhari abandon him totally.
