I called the management later and made sure the room was sealed out until well fixed as another might not be so lucky. It was a high class hotel at Maitama Abuja. God really saved me that day.

Rip to him, I hope the investigation will help reveal the cause of his death.

I had an experience while having my bath in a hotel.I had an electric shock when I held the metal shower hose.

I practically ran out of my room naked oh.I was eventually given another room.Since then I have a phobia for using electric heater when in hotels.First thing I do when I check into any hotel is to switch off the electric heater in the bathroom.


I recall a senior Dss officer accompanying Rotimi Ameachi in one of his tours was electrocuted in a Kaduna hotel.

Most of the fatalities in hotels are excluding murders and ritual killings are as a result of electric shock/ electrocution from water heaters. Must of the electric heaters in hotels are all those substandard ones that easily leak electrical currents into the water and subsequently electrocuting whoever is unfortunate to be under it bathing. I witnessed a fatal incident of such when a was the manager of a particular hotel in Egbe Ikotun. The guy brought his fiancé to the hotel for the night and while taking his bath with his babe, the water heater was on and boom, he was electrocuted, God saved the lady because it was the guy who first went in.
Also, these our electrician are sometimes contributing to the bad incident due to their substandard work. When that incident happened, we called the man that fixed the water heater to come and disconnect them and after his “ disconnections’ another guy almost got electrocuted. We discovered that he did the wrong things entirely.

Bottom line, never bath with water heater on. Heat the water to your desired temperature and off it and start bathing.

Maybe the same contractor did this hotel and this guy was not as lucky as you. Singer dies in bathroom .... it must be heart attack ... or drugs.... no autopsy needed ... no one to blame... we move on.

It’s sad.
It was actually fixed as I stayed there for days and they couldn’t afford the damage to their reputation.

I had headaches for days, I think I’ve shared it here on nairaland before.

Make use of floor tiles with rough surface, (anti slip)those are meant for places prone to water spillage, Bathroom,toilet kitchen to some extent, while u use the smooth tiles for other areas of your house.

Sometimes it is due to electrical fault. I had an experience at a house I was staying. The plastic base of the heater cracked and I started experiencing tingling shocks from the hand shower which was metallic. The phobia made me abandoned the heater.
