Meet brother John and his lovely wife sister Temisan. Lovely couple and proud parents of 3 wonderful children, a family united in love and understanding. We all in the area so much admire and jealous of their bond. The couple, were the perfect example of what a good marriage should be. They were that perfect, The whole neighborhood goes to them for marriage counseling. I mean, there is no John without Temisan and vise versal.They didn't have it all(financially) but until you are told, you will not suspect. Brother John was a vulcanizer and sister Temisan a petty Trader. That right there was the perfect family.
About 7years ago, not mistaken during the election period. We were all preparing to perform our civil responsibility as citizens, and necessary documents where required which all over the country, everyone interested in their future as a country had to get.. the neighborhood was quite busy as we all hustled to get ours ready. Temisan and John who didn't have at the time were part of the struggle to get theirs. God did it for Brother John as he was able to get his on time, while sister Temisan was still facing some challenges in acquiring hers.
Inorder to get hers, she had to leave as early as she could, sell alittle in the market, closes shop and go queue for hours. Sadly, they don't always get to her before the inec official closes for the day.. even after numbering for the next day, some stubborn heads will come disrupt the arrangements cus they want to be attended to also, That's if touts and thugs don't scatter the place first. This arrangement put so much stress on Brother John has he had to get the children set for school, and do some home chores. A sacrifice he happiled made so his wife gets her document.
About the children, they never wanted more than 2kids. Life had not been easy, so they planned for 2 which they felt they could manage, 1boy and 1girl. They had a girl first, was a joyful moment. So they decided to try for a boy as the second, but as it turned out, they were blessed with twins, 2 girls. Though disappointed, they accepted it as a blessing from God and decided not to have other ones, as the third one will be taking food from there mouths, so they had to work twice as hard... Believe, I was easy...
That faithful day, Sister Temisan had to close shop early in order to go get her document as it was the last day.. on getting to the venue, the place was filled up. The queue was way longer than she had seen before. She was a bit relaxed as the officials had promised to stay longer than usual to ensure all receives theirs.
Long hours waiting under the unforgiving sun. Sweat, smell, thirst.. many giving up and going back home, the wait was long and exhausting. But not sister Temisan, determined that she must collect and must participate in this voting process come tomorrow.. tired yet determined.
Few hours had pass and she was till far in the queue. She heard a lady calling out to potential customer for her chilled tigernut drink. She quickly turned and saw the drink in a transparent bucket on this seller's head.. the drink was so chilled, even the bucket was sweating profusely. She felt the dryness in her throat and decided to buy...
She called to the woman buh the seller did not hear her, as many other people were calling and she was attending to them... Infact, everyone there was thirsty.. she kept going further and further away from sister Temisan, selling to other customers. Temisan tried calling, to no avail. I mean, she was thirsty really thirsty and the tigernut drink looked so thirsty...she to a few seconds, looked at the queue and how far/close she was to the point, and how far the drink was from her. Quickly gave in to her thirst and rushed out of the line without making prior arrangements.
She finally caught up with the woman to find it was the last remaining drink and the woman was almost about going to give someone else.. she quickly collected it, opened and drank it. Brought out to pay in a hurry so she could quickly get back to her line. Unfortunately, the seller had no change. This was a delay as Sister Temisan kept complaining. The seller had to go find change from sellers across the road as Temisan waiting at the spot for her change.. this action took almost 25 mins, before she returned with her change. Angrily, she took the money and rushed back to were she had queued only not to recognize where she was before she left..
After searching a while, she concluded they might have passed her turn. In desperation, she pleaded with few people to help her as she missed her turn going to use the restroom. Not many positive response, the only one who agreed to assist her almost got into a fight with people behind her.. frustrated, sister Temisan decided to forsake the document and go rest.. "After all, it's not like they will count my vote tomorrow", she said to herself and left.. it was a chilled and relaxing tigernut drink, as she enjoyed it on her was back.
That evening, she told her husband John, what happened and why she won't be voting the next day. Brother John wasn't so happy about it, buh accepted it, as he would be going to vote for the family..
The next morning, election day, Brother John woke up to find sister Temisan was already awake buh still on the bed. She had a big smile on her face as she gentle touched brother John in gentle places.. John was a bit reluctant as he had to go out early and do the necessary in preparation for his voting... But come on, that morning own, who jokes with it.. morning own na your mate?
Besides, Temisan was ovulating coupled with the tigernut she drank, Mama's libido was on raging mode.. John decided they do a quicky and he goes out, sister Temisan agreed.. A quick 100m race became a long marathon. Brother John became so tired, as they both slept off from exhaustion. It was so intense, they even forgot they had kids.
The next day, Temisan was preparing lunch and brother John was was tv as they counted the votes. Temisan heard her husband crying in the parlour and went out to see what was wrong.. long story short, the result went in favour of hardship for the next for years, So sad.. to make matter worse, that marathon they did instead of going to vote, resulted in a pregnancy of which Temisan gave birth to quadruplet, all girls...
Life just became a whole lot harder.. His future swept under the rug with a "broom".
moral lesson, don't be like Temisan who lead John astray over marathon. Get your PVC and do the right thing...

All those shouting "Get your PVCs" are delusional. The number (population) of voters is never the problem. The choice voters make is the problem.

If only ten persons vote and the majority (at least six) of the ten persons vote wisely, good leaders will emerge.

If 100 billion persons vote and majority of them vote foolishly, bad leaders will emerge.

If number of voters is the problem, there will be no problem in the northern region because that region usually give a very high number of votes.

I do not discourage people from getting PVCs. But I put it to you that number of voters is not among the major problems. Rigging is a bigger problem than low number of voters. The moment INEC was challenge to provide 2019 election data in court, the case died off. This shows Atiku got more legitimate votes than Bubu. Would you blame the 2019 result on those who did not vote?

I mean, you have a good watch, they collect it, a good phone, you loose it, cash on you, goes to the boss. Who do you want to report to, the authorities there could not touch them as they settle well. A boss man needs to look presentable, as he approached her after her class..
They both were laughing and enjoying each other's company.. I sat not so far away watching them, "babe I like, the guy done collect am".
Months later, I observed they were really close, it got me so jealous and hurt. It was sad to see the way he gifted her cash, nice items. Having felt he had lavished her with so much gifts, he decided the ask her out officially. "Ope oo, they never they date", I was hopeful.
That evening, his boys put in all efforts to make that day remarkable, as they seized COCA COLA SPOT (if you studied at Abraka) for the show. I won't lie, it was romantic. Blackky and Temisan got there that evening, sat, ate, drank. All I could do was watch from a distance as others did.
Suddenly, Blackky stood up angrily. I noticed he was angry by the way he kicked back his chair. He boys stood up as they watched him pace around yelling with his finger pointed to Temisan's face. I became frightened for her and confused as Temisan did not move. She sat calmly, still sipping on her cold soft. Blackky and his boys stomped out, as they broke few bottles on their exist. "Omo, Temisan fear me ooo, babe no flinch".
That brings us to the night, when the worst happen.. A night I can not soon forget. The night Blackky and his gang invaded our compound. "Did I tell you, I and Temisan also live in the same hostel".
While I was catching some zzz zzz, I was awaken by a loud sound, pretty much the whole compound was. We were all trembling in fright. It was Blackky and his gang, the most feared gang in campus. They have come to pay Temisan with her own coin.
We all heard a loud voice coupled with bottles broken all over. It was Blackky, " if you like your life, better just remain in your room". That's was all, that was all we needed to hear. "You wan disobey?, Or abi life don tire you ni?" They went up to Temisan's door and kept banging calling her to open her door.
After a few minutes of relentless persistency, she gave in and opened. His boys started welling and breaking things in her room. "I could only imagine how scared the love of my life would be". Suddenly, every where went silent. I and pretty much every other tenant must have strained their ears to know what was happening.
"No, it's too much". I couldn't take it any longer. That's my future woman, and I must defend her honor, no matter the cost.. I quickly charged our of my room with a drink opener as that was the only weapon close, "it was just impulse".
On approaching her door, I heard Blackky's voice to Temisan, " have you now gotten your PVC?". Temisan then replied, "No". On hearing her reply, my moral dropped. And voting was the next day. I saw a Blackky felt weak between the knees as he staggered for his boys to hold him from falling.
Blackky started crying, his boys also cried. I heart broken from her reply also cried, the full hostel cried as well. Temisan had just sold her right to vote by buying an IPhone with the money Blackky gave her to run and get her PVC.
I later used my opener to open some chilled soft drinks for Blackky and his boys, atleast they will use that to chill ahead of the coming 8years hardship.
8 years was just swept under the rug by a "BROOM".
