If you know Agege well you'll understand & appreciate these "arrest & recoveries" (if the police are telling truth).

The place is filled with young boys & girls taking hard drugs, the rate of stealing & prostitution for peanuts is high, the rate at which youths are infected with HIV, HPV, Hepatitis & other communicable diseases is alarming & so endemic.

The state government, local government & house of rep members should do the needful before it spiral out of control.

Some people are asking why the police hid the suspects' faces. The reason is simply because parading suspects is extremely controversial.

The police parade suspects because they want the public to see the results of their work.

However, the law states that everybody is presumed innocent until they are found guilty by a court. Parading a suspect creates the impression in the minds of the public that the person is guilty. Such a person will face stigmatisation and may even be harmed even if he is later found not guilty by the courts. Therefore, lawyers have often condemned the police for parading suspects before the media.

Last year the Lagos State Government enacted a law that bans the parade of suspects by the police. https://www.nairaland.com/6713970/lagos-bans-media-parading-suspects

The police have been accused of failing to comply with the law.

Now they have found a compromise by taking pictures of the suspects (to show the result of their work) but concealing their faces (in order to comply with the law).
