Just a quick guidance question. One of my pet peeves is people using shared property walls as part of the wall for buildings, especially gateman houses. I think it's unhealthy and a security risk.

How can I avoid a neighbour doing this? Is there a setback rule for gateman houses?

Pic2 is the recommended security option. In fact the post should be at the corner of the house closest to the gate with windows at both corners.
That way he can see outside of 2 corners of the house.
In pic1 he's completely blind.

If you have it, then your neighbour will want to ask your permission before building that type of Gh, it is usually by mutual agreement, no law about it that i have heard off.

he is right, it seems to me your gateman won't be able to see the cars or guest coming before getting into your house.

Ok sir, I can get you something similar to dulux trade the imported variant but you would be prepared to pay for it even though it would still be very cheap in cost comparison.
Even at that, that would be for one coat which I still doubt the practicality of that.
You will get a good deal from that product as a drum would literally cover 8 standard rooms or 2 units of 2 bedroom flats.

1. The gateman can overlook the street from his own cubicle. Last one I did, gateman can see the entire street from his room.

You should reconsider this.

You want a layer of security between the security guard and the outside, you also want another layer of security, canines, to be able to patrol the perimeter.

Anyways I yield to everyone to do what they feel is best for them. I just want to know about if there's a setback rule.
