I'm using a device that supports VoLTE and 5g.

Telling the public that VoLTE can be used on some Infinix phones and not Samsung S21 sounds unbelievable.

so what? They are clearly working on supporting all capable phones, moreover Infinix and tecno are the most used phone in Nigeria so it's understandable. So get of your high horse please.
MTN is also the only network that supports ESIM, so chill, I'm sure it coming to Samsung devices too

In my opinion I think it's weird that those those phones (Techno Phantom X, etc.) are supported and not the others. It's mind boggling! The question is: do the other phones have different implementation??

Are you saying VoLTE is rolled out phone after phone? How many phones are in the world today? It's something when rolled out, phones supporting it are able to use.

Just show me with proof a Tecno phone it's working on.

Me self, the matter shock me.
When Ntel rolled out theirs, I do not think it was phone by phone. They just had voLTE as default, so if your phone supports it on their band, you are good to go.
This one that MTN is rolling its own out phone by phone, i don't understand o.

What is VoLTE?
As the name suggests, Voice over LTE happens when your carrier allows you to place a phone call over your LTE connection instead of the older legacy voice networks. For example, Verizon Wireless traditionally used 1XRTT for all of your voice calls, relying on LTE for data. This used to be why Verizon phones couldn't simultaneously use voice and data. Likewise, AT&T and T-Mobile relied on a combination of LTE for data and HSPA+ for calls and would drop down to a 3G signal when talking to someone on the other line. With VoLTE, neither of these scenarios is necessary anymore.

If you are using a 4G phone, anytime you're on call, or you want to send an SMS, the network will drop to 3G or 2G. 4G is only use to surf the internet.

VOLTE is an improve version of 4G, so when you are on call or you wanna send an SMS, is going to be using 4G network instead of 3G or 2G

4G is for surfing the internet alone while VOLTE can be use to surf the internet, make calls, send sms etc things 4G LTE can't do.

Let me list some of the other reason volte is better than 4G

Calls will be connecting quickly
High quality voice calls
Better battery life etc

I don't think this is a new feature within the Nigerian service sector, I've been able to use this for years on Nokia 8(before misplacing it), ie, I do call and browse the Internet concurrently, and one do not disturb the other except there is poor network in my location at the time

Yes, is not a new feature, but not widely available. VOLTE is an upgraded 4G.

What MTN is doing is called 'phased rollout' of its VoLTE service. Tecno Phantom X, Infinix Zero X, and Infinix Zero X Pro and all iPhones from 6 upward and some Samsung phones are supported for now. More devices will be supported in the coming months.

VoLTE is not an upgraded 4G, but the capability of making voice calls over 4G.

Yes, when you are making a VoLTE call end-to-end, your mobile data remains active.
