Toyota Corolla Doesn’t Start At Once In The Morning by harmyd007: 7:42am On Jan 20, 2021
Hello ! Please i need help,
I have a 2005, toyota corolla
In the morning when i attempt to start the car, it doesn’t start up, it kicks then goes off
But when i attempt the second time, the car comes up

I have changed the plug
Serviced the injector and nozzle
Serviced the fuel pump and filter too
Yet it’s the same

The car only comes up on the second kick
And this happens in the morning only

2 things are involved, 1. Crankshaft Position Sensor.
2. ECT Sensor

The ect sensor (cold start) was replaced, turns out it wasn’t the issue, i would try the crankshaft position sensor too, thank you soo much
Someone said it could be the fuel pump

It was the fuel pump! I replaced it and everything is well

!
Tip : to test if fuel pump is the issue, put on car ( but do not start it ) press the accelerator to pump fuel for a fuel seconds, then stop and start car, if it comes up once it’s your fuel pump

It depends on so many factors. I experienced it early dis year. Changed the fuel pump, plug and nozzles but never worked. The problem stopped when I changed the coil.

I have a similar issue. It do this but it doest start, and my fuel pump has some pressure still. But once I put little fuel in the injector it starts with one try. I have also cleaned the crankshaft positioning sensor too. Still don't work straight.

It's the fuel pressure regulator inside the fuel pump assembly that's causing your problem..

Change the complete fuel pump assembly. But if you cannot afford that, you can change the fuel pressure regulator and your problem will be solved.

Remember, it's those people that sell scrap parts that you will get the pressure regulator from.

It will look like the picture below.

Changing the complete fuel pump helped surprisingly, and the cold start

I am having same issue here. My re-wire said that it's the cold start switch/sensor.
Re: Toyota Corolla Doesn’t Start At Once In The Morning by dapotemi: 2:24pm On Jul 24, 2022
I finally solve this problem on my 06 corolla.. I change cold switch, change fuel pump, service almost every part of d car yet no solution.... Until i got to a new mechanic and he said its fuel pump again.. I told him i have change fuel pump but he insisted its fuel pump, so i bought another fuel pump, complete assy for 14k and the problem disappear... Car is driving normal and its over 2 month now.. My Mech says when u switched off ur car, some fuel returns back to the engine while some will stays in the engine or in d fuel line, a good fuel pump is meant to hold the little fuel in d engine in terms of pressure. It is that little fuel in the engine that will be used to START ur car whenever you want to drive out, before the fuel in ur tank will start coming up... Most times, a bad pump will not hold pressure, that means when u off ur engine, ALL the fuel returns back to the tank..
