Things To Know Or Do When Buying A Registered/used Car In Nigeria by veektoh(op):
Most people can't afford to buy Tokunbo cars anymore, with the current increase in Duty and price of cars. Registered or used cars are preferred. What are the things to check when getting a Nigerian used car?

STEPS TAKEN WHEN BUYING A USED CAR
1. Exterior and interior check: (A)Check out the uniformity of the car paint. (B) Check the car booths(tires), make sure they are in good shape. (C) Check Underneath the car for any rust that could be an issue. (D) Check for oil leakage underneath the car. (E) Check the boot for spare tire and jack (F) Check how clean the interior is, starting from the front seats down to the back.
2. Underneath the hood, check a few things like the transmission fluid( gear oil), Usually a yellow handle, the fluid should be nice and red and shouldn’t smell like it’s burnt. It shouldn’t also be low. (B) Check engine oil to make sure it’s not low, low engine oil could be a sign of a Smokey engine or engine that needs attention (C) Check Break fluid oil( hydraulic), shouldn’t be low, if it low it could mean the breaks are worn. If it full it means your breaks are in good shape, could also mean the fluid was topped (D) Check the Coolant. (E) Check for rust on the aluminum parts around the engine.
3. Test drive: Listen to the engine sound in silence to make sure there’s no swirky sounds from it. Go through all the gears to feel the movement of the car. Check the temperature of the car, it’s better a car runs cold than
4. Warning signs
5. Go with a pro/ good mechanic or technician who has OBD TOOLS to scan for any error codes
