NIGERIA is a senseless country with corrupt old fools. If a single man DANGOTE can build a functional refinery, WHY CAN'T A WHOLE NIGERIA with more than 200m others build a functional one? |

These marketers are the major problem, they just want to extort Nigerians by all means. That's how in 2016 FG had to send police to filling stations to force them to sell at the approved pomp price, I remember many filling stations that were sealed, their fuel pumped for free and their workers arrested. Nigerians should leave FG alone this time, let's fish out these heartless criminals. Buhari has been the one suppressing them from their evil agenda, Nigerians should protest against this people and get them roasted publicly like they did to police during the Endsars. The evil idiots are so heartless, it's about time Nigerians teach these greedy heartless people a bitter lesson |

Re: Marketers Notify FG On Planned Fuel Price Hike, Queues Persist by Nobody: 7:55am On Jun 24, 2022 |
Well, the prices have to go up because long story short, the cost of transporting fuel has gone up as has the cost of refining fuel Even if we refined fuel at home, the price would still have to go up because...the cost of transporting fuel, and refining the fuel has gone up. The problem is, Nigerians are not realistic. We voted for Buhari because he and his minions promised 40 naira fuel, which, even with domestic refining, was not possible then and now.(Venezuela sells fuel at the equivalent of N40. Their largest refinery went from refining 900000 barrels a day to 100000 barrels a day...and no, it is not sanctions. China, and Russia still do trade with that country.) And we are importing fuel because we made the decision several decades ago to sell our refined fuel at a loss .....meaning that there was not enough money to sustain refining capacity...and all the refineries went kaput. So, either we throw away 2 trillion naira in addition to the 5 trillion we are spending on subsidy this year because of high crude prices....or we simply remove subsidy, pay N400 for a liter of fuel like they do in most sane African countries, and use the profit to imprve domestic refining...without government needing to spend money on subsidies, or on TAM or on corruption. We cannot sacrifice our economy on the altar of 'helping the poor' We can remove subsides now, and help the poor with the resulting more jobs. P.S : If you want to argue or shout or yell at me, or call me oppressor, or whatever .....see below. 1 Like

PrinceMajestic: So you want the marketers to keep on selling at a loss, and not being able to pay their transport costs because ...cheap fuel. They transport that cheap fuel via diesel trucks. Cost of diesel has gone up. Transport costs paid by government are not able to cover the resultant cost....so either government takes your salary money and pays for the extra cost...or faces reality and allows an increase in prices. 2 Likes |
