There will be a lot of games next season coupled with the new 5 man substitutions in PL. Balogun can be used as backup for League cup and FA cup. He needs to start early to master working with Arteta if not he will be another Benik Afobe.

As for Pepe, once we get a buyer I would love that he leaves.

Also, I don't think Saka affects Pepe in any way. If Pepe was half as good here, Arteta wouldn't have converted ESR to a winger. It's because Pepe issa flop that made ESR become a winger.

Pepe is not a bad player, I can tell you for free. His problem is his inability to play with the rest of the team, apart from the fact that Saka was on top form.

Without this, he is basically useless as he cannot play with others especially the midfield. He cannot make runs and he hold the ball up.

In another team with flying fullbacks and a coach that takes away defensive responsibility from him, he will thrive as he is a good goalscorer.

However, I don't want him. I wish he would get a new club.

Before I forget, while I like the rumors and possibilities of signing Raphinha, I do not prioritize his signature or that of another winger over a quality CM, based on the needs of this team. We need 2 quality midfielders (we got one in Viera) and a CF who understands his role is to score goals, anything else is just luxury in my opinion.

We need to sign a quality CM and I hope there is an honest effort to secure the signature of a quality CM that can partner Partey in that double pivot formation Arteta prefers. I am worried that if we secure the signings of Jesus/ Raphinha we may be done with the transfer market and that would leave a gapping hole in that CM position…. I just hope I am wrong, after all they pulled a Viera on us when no one saw it coming!
