It's getting clearer Rabiu Kwankwaso of NNPP is unready to become a running mate to Peter Obi of Labour Party in the 2023 presidential election. Abdulmumin Jibrin, a NNPP chieftain and close ally of Kwankwaso, on Channels TV's "Sunday Politics" programme advised "The south-east should rally round Kwankwaso." He argued his candidate has a better political experience than Obi, having held many public offices, and is bringing most votes to the table. If you had been dreaming of a LP and NNPP alliance with a Julius-Caesar-like triumphant entry into Aso-Rock as a climax, wake up.

In as much as I desired this to be true, reluctance of and mixed signals from the NNPP camp on the proposed alliance hitherto let the cat out of the bag. It is time for Peter Obi, Labour Party and Obidients to move on. Kwankwaso, for an acclaimed clever politician, is proud, insensitive and neck-deep in his personal interests. He is not God. Becoming vice-president, with a strong prospect of ascending to president after eight years, is a privilege many politicians don't have and most Nigerians may never access. Kwankwaso seems to believe he is bigger than the office, one he is yet to occupy.

Also, it is equitable and reasonable for a southern presidential candidate to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari of the northern region after eight years in 2023. Kwankwaso is from Kano State, same geo-political zone, north-west, and region as Buhari. His emergence would be unfair to north-east, north-central and more so to the southern zones. NNPP's presidential candidate doesn't care. Obviously, it would be erroneous to regard Kwankwaso as futuristic and nationalistic in political style, a politician who looks beyond the now and is inclined to national unity. With Kwankwaso no longer in the picture, Peter Obi's path to victory becomes tougher--requiring more inroads and resonant campaigns in the north--not impossible.

Obi don't need Rabiu that can not generate 1 Million vote from the north to be his vice president undecided.

Check the last vote over 1m he generated for his in-law when he contested for Govship election under PDP in 2019.
Then compare it with less than 87k votes Obi got when he won the Govship election in Anambra

From my own calculation, I think Kwankwaso contesting directly will make it possible for Peter Obi to defeat all the aspirants. The Kwankwaso will divide Atiku votes in the North because both Atiku and Tinubu are hoping to win Northern votes but with Kwankwaso on the ballot, the 3 of them will share the votes with Tinubu getting the least votes. Peter Obi should pick his running mate and leave Kwankwaso.

Meanwhile, Peter Obi will win in South East and South-south and even in North Central. Go and ask. Again, many Yorubas who believe in voting the best candidate will vote for Peter Obi. In the North, many of them are already tired of Fulani killing them and they also believe that Tinubu is part of the evil and has nothing to offer except claiming his turn to loot. These very people in the North will vote for Peter Obi because they believe he is the best candidate.

It is win, win for Peter Obi. Let APC continue living in past glory without knowing that the glory has departed from them

1999 under PDP Kwankwaso got 587,610 to win the Govship election in Kano. Compare that to Obi who only won Govship election in Anambra with less than 87,000. . Most of you don't know anything about politics

Even at the risk of losing the presidential election and national implosion, if he wins (which is unlikely)?

Kwankwaso's pride will be his undoing, ticket to political relegation. What in goodness sake is demeaning in being vice-president, warming up to take over the baton of president in eight years? Nobody in Nigeria's history has ever spent 16 years in the presidency cumulatively, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo. Kwankwaso could have been the first.

In politics, sometimes, strategic patience can prove crucial. Bola Tinubu, although I'm disinclined to him, has exemplified this since 2011. He waited, his chance came, he seized it. A chess-like politician doesn't pounce on every opportunity to checkmate. You proceed, fight when the victory odds are highest.

No be everything that glitter is gold. The opportunity to be VP and a subordinate to a lightweight and a valueless politician like Obi Pandora is political suicide and Kwankwaso is not ready to commit that suicide, he's not dumb or foolish.

As we speak, the Labr Party is a damaged brand, a brand that is now synonymous with hatred, tribalism, bigotry, intolerant, violent and toxic behaviour.

Kwankwanso' won't destroy his brand because of lying Pandora and his toxic mob.

Abeg, labor in vain in peace.

Stop dreaming , all the votes Obi will get in SE and SS are going to be swallowed with Borno votes.
Talking of good governance, what exactly has Obi done?

If you think the voting pattern and number of votes in the East you having been witnessing in the past will remain same, then you will be in for a shock. I don't like playing politics of religion but it's likely that the churches are in for action particularly in the North because of senseless attack and killing in the churches and christian communities in the North. It's just a sad truth.

The presidency alternates between the north, south and vice-versa. Buhari from the north has done the region's turn. 2023 is southern region's.

No problem. But remember that am not talking of only South East votes here. Every 15 in 20 Christians you see in the North I have asked about this elections agreed to vote for Peter Obi.

As I posted earlier, I don't play politics of religion but that is the position today in the North and you can't blame them because they have suffered a lot and have lost many people in the hands of Fulani Herdsmen and nobody has been arrested.

Kwankwaso has nothing to lose by running under NNPP as president. His goal in this election is to show the whole country that he has the northern vote and that he is the new Buhari. If he also gets his party members elected across the northern region, this will also show that with a formidable running mate, 2027 will be a sure victory.

Peter Obi's popularity amongst the youth, is a surprise blessing to Kwankwaso, because it has created an opportunity to win in 2023, which probably wasn't his plan in first place.

Kwankwaso should win all core northern states apart from Adamawa, so he may already have close to 10 million votes. if Peter Obi can humble himself to this reality, both men will be elected president and vice president respectively by the grace of God.

This is the only path of stopping Tinubu's victory.

From what you wrote, you just actually told the world that the true political ambition of Peter Obi's supporters is really not to make Peter Obi president; rather, the true political ambition of Peter Obi's supporters is to stop Tinubu from becoming president.

It is so clear now that Peter Obi's supporters are obviously obsessed with Tinubu. In medical science, this is what we call OCD - Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. And this is a mental illness.

I finally understand why you Peter Obi supporters are so aggressively wild, uncouth and unruly on Twitter. You all suffer from acute OCD. shocked

My fair lady, my opinion on the 2023 elections is that Tinubu is the most formidable candidate and that only a combination of Peter Obi and Kwankwaso can stop him.

I personally have no horse in this race. just catching cruise ok.

Your response however, shows anger and desperation. This should be a queue to Obi supporters that there is validity in my point of view.

It is hatred for Tinubu that brings those fools supporting Peter Obi together and it is that hatred that will kill them.
Last weekend, I met a couple of ignorant loudmouthsbs supporting Peter Obi at a bar. By the time I finished engaging them, they saw how stupid they were to support Peter Obi. They could talk or reply hard questions I asked them.
Today is Monday, ipob controls Peter Obi's state and businesses are shut. That is not their problem, it is Tinubu that is their problem.
