this is just silliness

first off, none of those people running around in traditional attire are actually traditionalists

they have alsodeliberately misconstrued the clothing of traditionlists with the hijab

the man may as well wear bishops or reverend father robes to court

anyway, if they really want to carry out this protest to the fullest, then they have to follow in the steps of women who wear hijab, and wear these robes EVERYWHERE , not just in court.

the only place where women remove their hijab is when they are at home

so please please, if you want to make a protest, do it right -

also please ensure that you are actually a traditional worshipper, and not a poser

I hope the supreme court will consider the chaos this might lead to and rescind it decision on hijab considering the religious undertone. Imagine everyone appearing in their religious regalia? It would be crazy.

Are christians not wearing Berets again? In fact some are putting on rosary. I don't understand all these unnecessary ranting.
I went to government secondary school that belong to ADS where Muslim wear jihad and christians put on berets. But unfortunately, Baptist secondary school that belong to govt didn't allow Muslim to wear hijab.
I honestly don't understand why we christians always looks inferior to Muslims, it's mostly written over us. I've seen many Muslims married to christians without forcing religion on them, Remi Tinubu, Titi Abubakar, Florence Ajimobi etc. Joke aside, we equally have religion intolerance.
Can someone please tell me wife of any public christians figure as a Muslim.

We need to start teaching our children religion tolerance, this is how northerners got it wrong and we southerners have started exhibiting this trait.
May God help us

What is Fundamental Human Right in the first place?

As is stands
All the modes of dressing in Nigeria institutions are Christian oriented, as introduced by the British

Muslims have not really demanded for the real rights

It's untill when they call for all Muslims to dress according to their belief in every office of this nation.

Abi u don reconsider....it will soon reach the army and police....

I feel we should really just separate religion from our institutions thou... Wear whatever you want in your house....but in public or professional spaces... put on only the professional regalia for that office... while we're still trying to come to terms with office clothing.....some folks may just enter the space now... claiming they're nudists and must be allowed to enter offices and perform their duties fully naked...what do we do then...

Our constitution recognises no specific religion as such ..we claim to be a secular state..we must stop deceiving ourselves in this regard

You people need to understand that hijab isn't an attire, it's just a piece of cloth to complement your dressing, just like cap

You can wear a a suit, shirt, tip or any dressing and complement it with hijab

Stop making it seems like Muslims are violating any rule

All these tradition attire and robe are complete dressing and shouldn't be allowed

Please spare me the hypocrisy.

If traditional worshippers started dressing like dibias and medicine men everywhere the same Nigerian Christians would have a mental melt down.

The devil is upon us!

Respect how others perform their religion. That is very rich from a Nigerian Christian who will celebrate burning down a shrine for Jesus.

Please feel free to cosplay as any traditionalist you feel like.

Just do it with the same rigor that muslim women do with the hijab.

Then we will know you are serious in your pursuit of 'religious freedom'

Bunch of hypocrites.

They see nuns and smile, see women in hijab and foam at the mouth, and then they wail about religious tolerance.

This comment has prove some insinuations that the real people using hijab to commit these heinous crimes are enemy of Islam and not Muslims.

Go and commence your suicide bombing in earnest just because of hijab. Government will soon catch up with you in earnest not to talk of GOD ALMIGHTY.

You must be stupid, stop quoting me and talking nonsense. A slave to Arabs can't tell me nothing. Our African culture precedes all these religions they used to enslave you idiots, better read history and learn. Since Muslims can wear hijab, everyone can wear their traditional sango, or herbalist attire. Who are you to say they should not be allowed. Slave. You forget how Islam jihadist swept across Northern Nigeria and forced their religion and leaders down your throat. Are you Arab?

The issue is that it shouldn't have needed to become an issue of legislation for anyone to put on complementary items on clothing in addition to their official attires...that it took the supreme court to rule on this matter is why I think folks seem to be agitated...there are non Muslims who wear the hijab....I know a Christian woman that people often call Alhaja because of her dressing...yet she attends RCCG ... it should not have been a matter of court and that the court refused to see what a public support as this will seem like speaks a lot... ordinarily I believe the matter should have been debated in the house ...then probably made a jurisdictional issue....

What do I know though...

And who make you the mouthpiece for all Religion? Who make you the law? What makes you think you have a say on how other religion should carry on with their rites?!
Herbalist ephods is just an apron not a complete attire. Ifa beads/cowries are just an accessory not a complete attire. Celestial church worshippers walking bare-footed is just a believe not an attire at all. The chalk and birds feather on a traditionalist priest is just an adornment not an attire... should I go on?!
So rest your peace, everyone is entitled to their fundamental human rights!

Even Saudi Arabia is now making hijab optional for women, but here in Nigeria, some Islamists are trying to impose Sharia on us.
