PJ123:Are u implying that these useless set of leaders that don't give a shit about investing in the people will fund the so call technical schools?. These people are dumb and thieves and they won't still fund any shit coz they are always scared that if the people have access to better and quality education, it is all over for their stealing streak habit. |

kingyakos:Just relax! The problem of ASUU is much more complicated than CJN retirement. FG and the Unions are seriously working to see end to the strike, if President comes back we expect something good to happen! |

ufotunang:OYO. ASUU will have it worse when/if Obi becomes president. U don't need rocket science to know that. Do you know what ASUU is fighting for ? The federal government wants to tamper with their largesse. ![]() That is the main issue. Going by what u all potray Obi to be (let's just assume he is truly what u say he is) ASUU won't have it easy with him |

PJ123:Are you an illiterate or what? Didn’t you read that negotiations have been concluded with the Briggs committee since may but the FG has not deemed it right to look at the agreements and give the next line of action |

osazsky:You must be lying or your dad is not telling you the truth. A senior colleague retired two years ago during COVID-19. He has received his entitlement, I was part of the people that linked him to one of the good asset management firms in the country to invest his entitlements last year. So you need to question your dad. |

ogaontop:Thank you for taking your time to explain. Some of us ignore them because they feel intelligent amidst a depth of ignorance. Most of them are paid for these propaganda. If ASUU survived the Military Dictator, Sani Abacha, in a military regime, na these lebreje's go bother ASUU? Cow dey alive na money, cow die na money. ASUU will continue to wait patiently. Las, las, person wey dey ground no the fear to fall. Kudos. |

Didn’t you read that negotiations have been concluded with the Briggs committee since may but the FG has not deemed it right to look at the agreements and give the next line of action [/quote You need to learn how universities are funded throughout the world vis-a-vis the current realities in your country. Everyone who's well informed in funding of education and societal cost and benefits knows what ASUU is saying is not realistic. That's why you would see that if the ASUU chairman becomes the governor of his state, he will not allocate all state resources to university in his state because by then he would have seen what he is not seen now and he would be faced realities on how universities education should be funded. Then lastly, learn to engage people without insult. Your name is not ASUU, so ASUU can be critized. You shouldn't feel personally offended if people don't share your views on issues please. Your children, if you have one will never agree with you in all issues. Learn to control your temper and your ✋. |

Things getting more complicated. FG not showing any serious concern and ASUU too rigid. Why can't they accept the IPPIS payment platform since that is the major issue at hand. Must it be UTAS. FG is your employer for crying out loud, they reserve some rights. For how long will this matter drag and no end in sight.I feel for ASUU, but it is time for them to do a rethink of their demands. ASUU is usually notorious for very long strikes because they know it is the students that normally bear the brunt. As a solution, I think it is time for the government to apply the "carrot and stick" strategy to end this strike now before it is too late |

PJ123:How many from poor background would have your kind of luck? Oga, you're dispensing energy on a matter that doesn't concern you. Go and rest. We the students understand better now. If not wickedness, how can a FG borrow and spend over 4.2 trillion naira in 5 months on fuel subsidy (yet we don't see the fuel), but cannot spend 1.2 trillion on universities in 6 years? How do you even begin to justify this, sir? For the wrong reasons, FG has money...but for things that affect the masses, they never have money. This is not fair. |

Ibegtodiffer:My wonderful bro, I understand what you're saying. The matter concerns me because I have children and family members in Nigerian schools. I quite agreed with you, FG is very wicked but unfortunately ASUU is very selfsh because you cannot be comparing yourself with wicked people. ASUU wants to spend like politicians; this is not obtainable anywhere in the world. I remembered during my postdoctoral research training in UCT many years ago, I was staying with professor and his wife is also a professor. They had one car each and in most cases, they only go out with one car. I remembered I once asked him how many houses did he and his wife have. He said do they need more one house? He said they don't need such things. Also, in my current base in Europe, no professor has more than one house I don't know anyone with more than one car. On the contrary, I stayed in University staff quarter BQ for a while in Nigeria, I didn't know any professor with one car. All my senior professors have multiple of cars and no one had less than two houses apart from staying in university quarters. Let me tell you one bitter truth, as at the time I was staying in the BQ of the University Staff Quarters, the professor that owns the main building was collecting about #70k annually from me for staying in two rooms. He and his family are staying in the main building, and government was taking just #30k annually from his salary. Anytime we engaged in discussion about Nigeria state of affairs, the same Profs would be the first to nail the politicians. Nigerian problem is systemic and all parties need to sit down to address the issues sincerely. This continuous closure of the university is wickedness. |

ASUU and strike are like 5&6 They even went on strike during the time of Jonathan, who was once one of them The true of the matter is that both FG and ASUU are selfish I just pity Nigerian students bearing the brunt of their selfiness This country is already a failed state |

PJ123:sir..they are not asking for much..considering their workload I just feel that no lecturer should still earn 150k per month considering inflation and interest rate..and I dont know y fg should be accumulating allowances wat is wrong in implementation..if they had implemented the 30k monthly allowances this accumulated prob of over 12 years would have been avoided |

It's a fact that some of the profs are on ghostly employments and one of the ways to curb it is payroll circumscription which FG has done through the introduction of IPPIS. But my question is, what's the essence of the platform when the Accountant General of the same Federation could stole 80bn while concurrently being placed on the same platform. WE SHOULDN'T LEAVE THE HEAD FOR TAIL OF THE MATTER. I think FG should do the needful by improving the welfare of our lectures; that's when I'll see the sense behind the so-called IPPIS. My submissions! blinking001: |

pedrilo:Nigeria voted for Buhari in 2015, but not in 2019. The evil APC stole the mandate in 2019 using the instrumentality of the equally evil INEC. However, people should rise above primordial and foolish tribalism and religion and retrench APC in 2023. Otherwise the hardship and insecurity they experience now will be child's play. Peter Obi is the man to vote. |

sinkhole:Don't believe the APC lying govt. Things may not normalize as soon as you probably envisage. They do not really want to drop IPPIS coz they're milking the lecturers dry through it. IPPIS is very unreliable and fraudulent and that's what they want. You might be aware the IPPIS database is the USA whereas UTAS is home grown. Why does the APC lying govt prefer IPPIS that gulps lots of money in maintaining to much cheaper and homegrown, more reliable UTAS? A beg leave matter. Survival of this country is not in sight. |
