So as usual, one relatively young Peter Obi supporters came to ask me to become Obidient. He mentioned that PDP was the same with APC and we cannot vote both of them. He went on to say Atiku and Tinubu were too old and both don't mean well. The usual story. So I reminded him that he asked me to vote for Atiku in 2019, so I wanted to know what has changed. He went on the repeat the same things he started with and he mentioned Obi was the only one who could save Nigeria. So I asked three questions.

1. What if Atiku/Obi had won in 2019. Would he still be saying the same thing. So if Atiku/Obi ticket which he was pushing won in 2019, would he still be calling Atiku a thief and Obi a saint? His only response was that, we thank God that did not happen. So I asked him if he was wrong for pushing the Atiku/Obi ticket in 2019 and he had no answer.

2. I asked him if APC and PDP are that terrible, why should I vote for a man who has been in PDP for the past 7 years and only left a month ago. This same man was PDP vice presidential candidate when Atiku was sharing dollars in 2019 and he still wanted to be president under PDP up until one month ago when he realised he couldn't win. Again, he had no answer.

3. I asked him if Peter Obi miraculously won the election, and the NASS was controlled by APC or PDP. What does he think will happen next? It will be very clear Peter Obi wouldn't get anything done because he will have a very antagonistic NASS. Labour Party does not have candidates in 80% of the NASS positions and will barely get any senators or reps. So if the NASS is controlled by APC/PDP, then Peter Obi will either get impeached or join the APC./PDP. Labour Party has no structure, no representation, it is a one man show. Peter Obi will probably decamp again to PDP or else get impeached. Again he had no answer.

So he agreed to get back to me when he had the answers to these three questions. May be some Peter Obi supporters on Nairaland have answers to these three questions. Lets wait and see.

Peter Obi of Labour Party is simply the best candidate and the man Nigeria needs desperately come 2023 presidential election. He outlined the issues that has bedevilled the country over the years proffering solutions to change the narrative once and for all. Peter Obi said:
1. I can’t sleep because I know what to do! I have gone round the 36 States of the country like I have gone round 31 countries of the world, I know the problems of Nigeria and I know I can fix them easily! Because I can see them, I can fix them!
2. Hunger takes people to the streets! Job and food will obviously take them out of crimes! That’s my specialty, creating jobs and wealth!
3. I have not come out for myself! I have come out for the millions of youths that are losing hope in our beloved country!
I have come out for the millions of women who are afraid of tomorrow and what it holds for them and their children! I have come out for the poor who are asking weather it’s a sin to be a Nigerian! For them, I have come!
4. For people who are asking if Peter Obi has ‘structure’, what structure is bigger and stronger than the collective will of the masses on whose necks the knees of the politicians have been? What structure is greater than the determination of a people who have at last decided to take back their country, their only country?
5. The battle for the rescue of the soul of Nigeria has just begun and we must all be contributive and participative in it.
6. Yes, we may not have the money to share because we didn’t steal any.We have not come to enslave but to serve.
7. Have you imagined somebody giving you money to help you? Bribing you to go and serve you? It’s wisdom to go for a permanent solution than a temporary remedy!
8. This battle is to help Nigerian youths, Market women, struggling families, students, teachers, famers, old and poor, whose helpless looking faces I see everywhere I go. It’s for these people that l, Peter Obi, have come! However, like a drowning man, they must bring out their hands to be saved!
9. In this battle, if you can’t fly, run! If you can’t run, walk! If you can’t walk, crawl! If you can’t crawl, roll! If you can’t roll, shout! By all means we must be on the move and we must be heard!
10. These people are more than 50 million of the Nigerian voting adults. They have the power. Their destiny is in their hands so they can change it. If they will it, they will win it!
11. Remember, the man with energy will always be at the mercy of the man with strategy based on synergy. With God on our side, we shall not fail and we shall not fall! May God help us!
God bless Nigeria!
12. I will rather lose doing the right thing than win doing the wrong thing.
13. Nigeria must move beyond oil; we must move from Consumption to Production nation.

Lmao, I have asked these questions, particularly that last one multiple times and they have no answer always.

The only reply they usually have is insults, they think campaign is war when in reality it's not.

Wise people understand that Obi cannot save Nigeria. Obi will surely bring a little good change that will last for a short period and the suffering will increasingly continue. Obi will not make ridiculous appointments or misappropriate funds like Bubu. But Obi cannot save Nigeria from sinking. Obi can only delay the sinking for a period of 4 or 8 years. The best solution is separation. Let every region sustain itself.

But your question about Obi's 7 years in PDP is childish. Obi was in PDP but did not serve like other governors in the same PDP and in APC. He was in PDP because he has to serve under a party. Being in PDP did not stop him from serving diligently and you know this. Even the LP he has joined is not filled with saints. So, what exactly is your logic? Is there any political party with only saints as members? Or, can someone win a government election without belonging to a political party?

Talking about ATIKU/OBI is also very childish. It is like condemning a good governor because he served under a bad president. For example, the president that was in power when Obi was a governor was good but not as good as Obi. Would you now condemn Obi's leadership in Anambra because Obi served at the same time with that president? Your logic is like denying the goodness of a teacher just because the principal of the school is bad. It is like condemning a good child or wife because the father or husband is bad. Obi accepted to run with Atiku in order for Obi to have an authority to contribute his best. Obi did not see being a running mate as the best option. He accepted it because that was the only option. Ask yourself why he left the same Atiku and the same PDP now.

Your childish logic about ATIKU/OBI ticket is like condemning those who chose Atiku over Bubu in 2019. Those who chose Atiku never said Atiku is a saint. They chose him because he is better than Bubu. That is how Obi was Atiku's running mate. Running with Atiku is better than running with Bubu. Had it been Atiku worn, serving as a vice to Atiku would have been better than not serving at all. Obi would have been a better vice than Osibanjo.

Make sense ...

Obi jumping from party while shouting integrity cheesy

Igbos youths migrated from IPOB youth to Nigeria ‘ zoo” youths

The once IPOB zoo has suddenly become a country with humans with Kanu calling for peace

No more shouts of IPOB and Biafra

OBi supporters remains an IPOB pCkage

I didn't see where you said he called Atiku a thief. You brought that in to stir up emotion. Fine! That's a good card to a typical Nigerian.

I supported Atiku against Buhari not PDP against APC. Because I knew Atiku was better than Buhari in governance. I don't support party, I support party flag bearers.

Should Obi wins the election, many will move from their different party to labour. Moreso, the influence of NASS over the presidency is overrated because of too much ignorance on the part of the citizens.

The answers to your questions are very simple...

1. What if Atiku/Obi had won in 2019. Would he still be saying the same thing. So if Atiku/Obi ticket which he was pushing won in 2019, would he still be calling Atiku a thief and Obi a saint?
Atiku still remains a thief; that fact hasn't changed to date. The reason most people overlooked his tainted record and supported him in 2019 was because he stood tall as a better alternative to the main contender and president at the time Buhari. Elections are a game of choice between 2 or more people; when the electorate is faced with 2 or more bad choices, they go with who they perceive as a lesser evil (which is what Atiku was in 2019). But in 2023, with Mr Obi now in the race, Atiku no longer stands as the lesser evil. Your boy did no wrong by selling Atiku in 2019 and switching to an even lesser evil in 2023.

Anyone who understands Nigeria's political space knows that both APC and PDP, and even Labour party are all the same. Nigeria's democracy isnt mature enough to accommodate independent candidates so for a good and credible candidate to run for office, he/she still needs a political vehicle and has no choice than to settle for one of the already polluted parties.

Given these circumstances, the only thing that matters and should be focused upon is the pedigree/reputation/credibility of the candidate themselves, and not the party (except of course we just want to deceive ourselves). The very fact that Mr Obi bluntly refused to be a party to the corrupt dollar bazaar in PDP, and even took a bold step to leave a most promising platform to go into the wilderness, that already speaks volumes on his credibility.

Let him win the election first! Then Nigerians will get to understand that the the greatest structure is the PEOPLE; if the masses can be behind a leader, that is the strongest structure any leader can ever have. If Obi as president wants to do something which the people genuinely adjudge to be good, as long as the PEOPLE are behind him, the NASS would be too scared to stand against him.

Now this isnt just some theoretical hypothesis crap, this is something Mr Obi has clearly experienced before and is currently experienced in handling. Mr Obi was impeached twice as governor for refusing to share money to party and house of assembly members. But guess what? Each time the PEOPLE stood by him, he came back stronger.

And should he choose in the future to decamp to whatever party he chooses, that to me (and to every enlightened Nigerian who understands our political space) does not define the man.

Oh, you claim Atiku was better than Buhari. There were over 20 candidates contesting in 2019. Can you genuinely say Atiku was the best? Can you say Atiku was better than Kingsley Moghalu, Hashim Olawepo, Fela Durotoye. Can you in your heart if hearts say that Atiku was the best that contested. If he wasn't, then why did you still vote for Atiku? Why didn't you vote for a younger candidate who could bring change.

Please answer.

And if all the APC/PDP senators and reps cross to Labour, wouldn't we have the same thing as it is now?

Who are the other contesting? Do you know them? How are you sure Peter Obi is the best since you know only Peter Obi and Atiku.

PDP zoned their presidency to north in 2023 and Everyone respected that permutation. And as 2019 Atiku was a better option to Buhari! Coming to 2023 PDP all of a sudden threw the zoning formula away. Peter Obi has emerged and is better than Atiku. If Atiku was the best among the top contenders we would have supported him. So your analysis is Agbado and cassava inspired!

To Answer your 3rd question.

Peter going into government will bring a new dimension to the senate. If they refuse to do whats right they will be recalled immediately! No jonsing

So in 2023, have you researched the other candidates? Or is this another case of - i know only Atiku and Peter Obi, so I vote for Peter Obi.

Who are the other contesting? Do you know them? How are you sure Peter Obi is the best since you know only Peter Obi and Atiku.

It's not my place to do research on candidates. It's the job of the candidates to sell themselves to me.

I know Atiku, Tinubu and Obi. The three a competent. However, age will hamper Tinubu's performance. Atiku is from the north. Buhari has taken that slot.

In addition to that, both Atiku and Buhari are Muslims. Buhari has taken the Muslim slot.

So Obi is the available competent candidate among the three candidates I know.

Make sense ...

Obi jumping from party while shouting integrity cheesy

Igbos youths migrated from IPOB youth to Nigeria ‘ zoo” youths

The once IPOB zoo has suddenly become a country with humans with Kanu calling for peace

No more shouts of IPOB and Biafra

OBi supporters remains an IPOB pCkage

Why are you sounding dull and stale bro.
You can't blame any Igbo agitator for saying they want Biafra or IPOB reason being they've been so politically marginalized.
Now they have the chance to turn things around and you expect them to vote for your incompetent old druggie or Atiku that's so corrupt and tribalistic to the core?
You must be kidding

Besides Peter Obi is not any Igbo project, he's the good Nigerians youth project.

Just stop acting dull and backlashing the Igbos here
Get a fvking life!

Election is not about voting a saint but about voting the best candidate for the job. In 2019, the choices were Buhari and Atiku and every dullard knows that Atiku has a sounder mind. Buhari could not even HEAR or COMPREHEND a simple questions so obviously Atiku was the better candidate in 2019 and even OBJ attested to this even while acknowledging Atiku’s shortcomings.

The question of IF Atiku had won in 2019, what would have happen now is a fictional question and I no not think deserves an answer.

Winning an Election as an opposition by popular will of the people and having a successful government is not unheard of as previous occurrences have shown, take Oshiomole(ACN), OBI(APGA) are examples. Buhari won as opposition candidate.

The National Assembly can not subvert the popular will of the people should OBI win. They can not impeach or not support his popular developmental policies simply because he is from the minority party. Any legislator who would not support developmental policies will recalled correctively.

Meanwhile, this is not 1993, vaulence is an option just incase anyone or group of people thought they could subvert the popular will of the people. This is not the generation to be messed with, these politicians are human and can be lynched if the need be.

If you’re not convinced with these answers, go vote your candidate and let us vote our Piro in peace, after all you have only got one vote.

Lmao, I have asked these questions, particularly that last one multiple times and they have no answer always.

The only reply they usually have is insults, they think campaign is war when in reality it's not.

So you have been asking and still no responses. As you can see, I have got some insults, someone said he only knows about Atiku and Buhari.

No one has been able to answer these questions. May be the more intelligent Peter Obi supporters are still sleeping as it is still early. Hopefully someone would be able to give us direct responses even if he has to add a few insults.

Seun, Lalasticlala, Mynd44
I as a person neva advocated for Atiku Obi candidacy. Neva voted in 2019.
Meanwhile, party is just a vehicle.
In Anambra, Obi did well, but Obiano his successor performed below.

According to ur option 3, if Obi wins president, there will b massive defections into Labour Party. Nothing new. He can aswell join back PDP if d pressure is there.

Obi is good for d job. But am still afraid of d people da will work with him, naija is too vast and diversed

Typical straw man arguments.

As someone already told you, the question is about the individual not the parties.
