I am home trained, bro.

I was in the Nigerian Law School, when COVID-19 hit us bad. What happened? We resorted to virtual classes and even though it was still alien to us, it helped immensely.
Thats the issue. You can't compare law studies with that of Medicine. You can't teach clerking and examination of patients virtually. You must gain that Clinical experience as a doctor. You can't gain that experience virtually.

It's possible to read up medical books and be really smart. Anybody could read medical books. That's what distinguishes doctors from other fields of medical practice, that experience!

A pharmacist may want to claim or act like a doctor because he has read and knows some medical stuff. But you see they Clinical experience he doesn't have? That's the big difference.

Sorry sir, but I disagree with this submission. It's more opinionated than factual. You probably just don't like the country.

How many of their doctors have you interacted with to come up with this assertion? There's a reason why Nigerian doctors are doing great abroad despite the poor education in the country. Yes, some schools are better than others, but the country of graduation is not really a major factor in MBBS provided that first, school is accredited by a body recognized by the WFME; second the school is recognized by the host country; and third, the individual is able to pass the regional professional license exams of the host country. This is why you see doctors from Sub-Saharan Africa getting jobs and doing well all over the world despite the so-called poor education in the region. Are you suggesting these countries are all better than Ukraine when it comes to medicine?

If the Ukrainian doctors you're referring to are practicing anywhere outside Ukraine, they are verted and considered as good as thier local counterparts. We have many of them here in the US/Canada and they're doing just as good as their colleagues from all over the world. The US/Canada will NEVER employ any medical practioner that can be described the way you did above. Besides, there's no single recognized med school rating out there that put Nigeria or any African country above Ukraine. Many of them have Ukraine in the top 10 to 20. So I'm surprised by your claims. If you had an ugly experience with a Ukrainian doctor, it definitely does not sum up the performance of the entire medical schools.
will the UK accept Ukraine online doctors?
BBC must shut up

My post has nothing to do with Nigeria's decision regarding the online studies. I'm not against that. I'm only correcting the guy I quoted who Ukraine trained doctor's quacks just because he wants to take a side on the war. The online studies just started recently and Nigeria has good reasons to be skeptical about it. Nevertheless, Ukraine's schools of medicine were top notch prior to the war and thier doctors were doing just fine all over the world. So the person I quoted was just being overly biased and sentimental.

Bc you know nothing of what you're writing. I'm telling u fact which u need to find out yourself.

How can people who are not allowed to touch white patients know anything close to Nigerian trained Drs with heavy access to patients. U think say medicine be like social studies taught online? Lol
Don't change the goalposts. Has Ukraine produced any doctor since the war started? Were the present Ukrainian doctors taught online? I'm not referring to online education that just started cause of the war. The person I quoted trashtalked Ukraine's school of medicine by suggesting thier doctors are quacks and that is bullshit spewed out of sentiments cause Ukraine was one of the leading places to study medicine prior to the war. I answered that comment comprehensively. You didn't address any of the points I raised there but rather, you're repeating the same trash like a poorly trained Amazon parrot, so there's nothing for me to engage.

As if your post I quoted was friendly. You're addressed based on how you approached. It didn't occur to you to reply me with your non existent points in the first place, it's now you want to start dishing them out.

You have no point, oga. Go and sleep.

My point was mostly based on the current decision of mdcn, do you know the sharp practices in Ukraine now. If you know someone studying there they will tell u better. It is better they suspend them for now until things get much better

Please, read the first person I quoted, read my response to him, and see the point I am challenging. His post wasn't about Nigeria's decision at all, so that is not the bone of contention here. So maybe you shouldn't have quoted me cause my post had nothing to do with the current situation in the country but rather, I was correcting the guy who said Ukrainian doctors are quacks and can't be compared to thier Nigerian counterparts. The online thing just started a few weeks ago and Nigeria is right to be skeptical about it. That's common sense. Nevertheless, Ukraine had some of the best medical schools out there prior to the war. Anyone is refusing to acknowledge that is just being biased. Their doctors are not just good, they are great, and they work in many western countries today. The US/Canada wouldn't employ under qualified medical practitioners.

Below is what the guy said and that's untrue. He is just a Russian supporter who does not know how to treats different subjects in isolation.
Those so called doctors trained in Ukraine are eye sore. They don't know anything. They are total disgrace. Both in clinical and theory. Lots of them are not even close to Nigerian trained doctors, talkless of been on par with them. I don't know if it's jamboree they went there to do.

MDCN is both right and wrong at the same time
They are right in the sense that medicine can't be thought online alone due to its clinical aspect which is patient focused because you can't clerk and examine online

They are wrong in the sense that they didn't consider the consequences of their decision on the Ukrainian medical students
This is because no one knows when the war will end.
I think the best solution to this problem is to allow this students to transfer to other accredited medical schools around the world for them to complete their training, hence validating their certificate.

Please we should apply empathy here because these students have been through a lot.
Their plea should be heard.

Nigerian Medical education is not poor.

The healthcare may be poor, the education is not.

Isn't the bolded the entire point? The medical education still stands out despite the poor education system. Isn't that what I said?

Certainly, you are entitled to your opinion. You should however note that some were already in their 500 level or 600 level when the war broke out and they had to move out of the country. As a result, they had to continue with the studies online. Consequently, the issue on ground is not that their schooling has been completely online but had to go online due to the crisis. In this regard, the argument of the students who expressed their minds is for the council to be considerate instead of writing their certificates off as online certificates. My take though

It can never work out. I still repeat that such people should never be given a chance as medical doctors. Nigerian medical board can be kind enough to allow them continue from year 5 or year 6 in nigeria and they continue their housemanship and fulfil other criteria for being a medical doctor before being given that title

There are courses that can be taken online, MEDICINE IS NEVER ONE OF THEM and there should be no consideration or mercy in that.

This has to do with people's lives.

There are still things they still need to be taught in school, practically and learning that online, is a big no!!

You are right
Medical students in Nigeria are exposed to a lot of patients despite poor health infrastructure
Thats why they tend to do well globally
