Is not easy bro... I am currently on 30k job honestly. So many times, I feel so weak n depressed. Lagos 4 that matter. Just the little change I do get when I go for outside work that is helping me a bit. I have met with people I know through my work but they are not willing to help. Just like that.

* Buy old Keke and replace the engine with a new one
* Buy old Keke and change the crank shaft , engine block and top cylinder

*Make sure say the Keke no dey short oil (Na the only problem when Keke get be that)

Use the old keke for haulage.
U can attach yourself to a cement retailer that does good business and be doing her deliveries.
Delivery per bag is #100 to #150 and if you manage deliver 100bags daily, better you do the maths.
Inaddition to the monetary benefits, your old keke will last you as you are not stressing it running up and down looking for commuters. All you do is wait, take orders and deliver. After expenses you should be OK.
If you are prudent enough, In 1 year you can buy a fairly used truck and upgrade your business.
My keke delivery man now lives in his own built house courtesy of the business.

Go for a new Keke if you can afford it. If u can't, look for someone to get the money from and add to the one u have at hand and buy new Keke.

Within 3 months or less, u would have paid the borrowed money and have some change.

Learn to save also, no matter how little. Carry out a study in your area to determine the best route to ply.

it depends on how old the Keke is. My husband uses Keke but e got it as a new one but presently because of old age d Keke is now sort of disturbing him. But if u can get a sound one u will not regret quitting ur job I can bet u on this thanks

It's a good idea. But I will advice you to get a new keke. If you get an old Keke, you will later spend much money on it, which may not allow you to save much.

Good idea , with keke if you are serious you be making no less than 5 to 4k daily it's better than that hard labour in Chinese cement company of yours , no buy old Keke ooooo , brand new Keke will serve you better, old Keke might even knock engine be giving you issues every day , it will frustrate you , go for new one , tear rubber.

Op I think this advice is worth heeding and mature too. As for me, I have never been into the business but I am interested in transportation. Pray about it too and let God lead you.

Young man, I know the job might be difficult, but please stick with it for now. Then use your spare time to learn a skill or a vocation. Or alternately, get the Keke and then drive it after work and during the weekends, this way you earn both from your job and from your Keke side business.

If you abandon the job and jump with both legs into being a tricycle operator, what will you do if you wake up one day and discover your state govt (I'm assuming Lagos) has banned Keke operators (it might sound unlikely but it's very possible). What will you do if (God forbid) the Keke gets damaged in your very first week (I might seem unduly pessimistic, but one must always plan and prepare for possible negative outcomes even if one hopes they don't come to pass).

So pls stick with the job, and either learn a skill on the side or ride the Keke on the side ( evenings and weekends). If you go with the 2nd option, then once you've saved the equivalent of at least 6 months of your salary, then you can leave that job, knowing that you have ample financial reserves you can fall back on incase of any unforeseen occurrence (may God forbid such, but once again, one has to be prepared).

Disregard most of the people here telling you to leave the job outright. A lot of them are kids who have never suffered in their life and who are still living with their parents.

I have taken time to go through your post and all the comments. If you are in Port Harcourt, I will suggests that rather than using the money you intend to used for old keke, if you can make same available, I can buy you new TVS or Paggio keke on hire purchase.

With the upfront part payment, it won't take long for you to complete the hire purchase payment. However, it is important to point out that you must make available two guarantors.

Don't buy old Keke displayed on the shop. While still at your present job, be on the lookout for someone that wants to sell his Keke off. Just make sure the money is always ready, because sometimes someone tired of the business might just decide to sell of his clean Keke cheaply

How much is new tvs keke,i heard in ph the principal add up to 50% on top of the amount they bought it,that's slavery,by the time they finish paying the full amount,the keke has depreciated to zero value.

My only advice, please if you are buying used keke avoid TVS and BAJAJ. Go for PAIGGO. I day drive keke it's somehow stressful but money day the business. After submission, feeding and other expenses I day throw 20k meeting every sunday
