I need recommendations on oil brand to buy, the oil shows low on dashboard.

I need to top it.

Car is in Abuja.

What’s the mileage?
Was it a Nigerian used car or you bought it brand new or foreign used?

Get genuine castrol, mobil 1 or liqui molly.
Don’t top up, rather drain and and change oil filter then use fresh oil.

The oil capacity is 8.5qrts

Sometimes the oil sensor can behave funny and needs changing ..as for oil ..buy this ..around 22k
5w 30 would be better idk ..

How do I know if it is the sensor failure?

Castrol,otalite and others would knock your engine. Pls buy mobil 1 only.pls

Not necessarily true. He should however use only high quality genuine oils.

If that was my vehicle then I would change oil and oil filter and use Fanfaro, Mobil1 (from a trusted source) or Motul.

I won't use anything Castrol even in my lawnmower.

OP, take care of that car. That engine na die if it goes bang, even in the USA.

I used Castrol oil sometimes back on Nissan Quasqai with less than 35k km, and it started smoking after traveling about 400km. Car was bought brand new from Alliance Auto

Castrol oil both the one inside green and the other white keg 5litres are knock offs fake. I used castrol,it caused high fuel usage, burning oil like mad, fake oil. I used otalite,that one knocked my engine after 3 weeks,damaged my pistons. After replacing the damaged pistons,I ran back to mobil 1 5w 30. Anything aside 5w 30 full synthetic. U go hail.
