Captain Hadiza Lantana Oboh
Was Nigeria Airways' First & Only Female Pilot,

She Flew the Boeing 737-200 Aircraft of the Nigeria Airways,
That was Scheduled for International Routes.

She was Murdered on the 8th of February 1998 in her Bourdillion Road Ikoyi, Lagos Residence By her Domestic Staff.

On the Day she was Killed,
She had Returned from a Foreign Trip & was Attacked by her Domestic Staff while Cooking,

They Strangled her with a Rope & Dumped her Corpse in a Septic Tank in her Compound.

After Killing her,
They Looted her House & were Selling Off her Properties when the Police Came on a Tip Off
By Neighbors, Friends & Relatives that had Visited after her Murder & Meeting her Absence,
They were Rounded up, Arrested & Detained for
Stealing,
And were Later Released on Bail.

The Police Didn't know of her Death at the Time of their Arrest,
They were Detained for Robbery & not Murder.

After 3 Months of her Family & Friends Complaining of her Sudden Disappearance,
The Police Commenced Investigations again,

This Time they Visited her Home,
They Found Blood Spills, Stains, a Knife & Rope in the Main Building,
While Combing the Compound for more Leads,
They Found a Part of the Septic Tank Open with a Part Haphazardly Cemented,
That Led them to Opening it,

On Opening it,
They Found Captain Hadiza's Decomposing Body,
Sadly the Culprits had Earlier been Released on Bail,
When the Police went Back to the Addresses they Provided,
They were Found to be Fake.

Ironically,
She had Earlier Sacked the Mastermind of her Murder,
Her Gateman, Abdullahi &
Employed Peter her Kinsman.

She Re-employed Abdullahi when Peter Traveled Home & Overstayed,
This Deadly Mistake Cost her Life.

On Peter's Return
They all Worked Together,
While Peter Worked in the Main House,
Abdullahi Manned the Gate.
It was Peter that Told Abdullahi of their Boss' Possessions,
And that Led Abdullahi to Drafting the Plan to Kill her,
While Peter Recruited 3 Other Domestic Servants from the Neighborhood to Join them,

On the Ill Fated Day of her Death,
Peter Signaled Abdullahi to Let the 3 Others in,
Peter Pounced on her in the Kitchen,
While Abdullahi Tied the Rope on her Neck & the Other 3 Held her Down while Abdullahi Tightened the Noose on her.

*****
This was the Confessional Statements of Abdullahi,
Corroborated by Peter & Itoro her Driver.

Abdullahi, Peter & Itoro her Driver were Later Rearrested,
They However Escaped again after Securing Bail,
The Police Found Out that they Provided Fake Addresses of themselves & Sureties.

The Receivers of the Stolen Goods, the
Killers & Sureties are Still at Large till Date.

It's Been 24yrs now & there's been no Justice for Captain Hadiza.

Good Evening,
Happy Weekend.

........

I remember when this story broke on NTA decades ago and how it touched me even as a kid. We've lost so much talent as a nation and sit on so much injustice that I fear the path to redemption for Nigeria is farther than many would be happy to acknowledge.

members she accommodated in her
house murdered her, dumped her
corpse in the Lagos lagoon & started

This is just disheartening, we are currently in evil days.
But why will murder suspects be released on bail? It's against the law
