2023: You Can’t Snatch Wike From PDP, Saraki To APC Govs

Former Senate President Bukola Saraki has described the recent visit of some All Progressives Congress (APC) governors to their Rivers state counterpart, Nyesom Wike, as an exercise in futility.

The governors of Lagos, Ekiti and Ondo states, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Dr Kayode Fayemi and Olurotimi Akeredolu met with Wike in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, on Friday,

But speaking with reporters in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, after the Eid celebration, Saraki said the visit would amount to nothing at the end of the day “because PDP would not allow Governor Wike to go”.

“Governor Wike is an important member of our party and I am very confident that in no distant time, we will sit down and address all the issues. There is no doubt about it that he has cause to feel the way he does, but there are better ways by which issue like this can be resolved.

“The good thing is that we all talking to one another. We are on top of the situation and PDP will reunite and forge ahead to win the next elections. I assure you that PDP will definitely resolve its family issue that it currently has.

“The fact that some APC governors went to see their colleague, trying to capitalise on what they think is an issue is a gross miscalculation. At the end of the day, their visit is going no where.

“The APC governors know that it is this kind of a crack they need to latch on. Fortunately, we are not going to give him (Wike) to them because the election ahead is too important. The destinies of millions of Nigerians are too important and even bigger than any party or individual. I appreciate that, all our stakeholders appreciate that and Governor Wike himself appreciates that.”

On the current strike by university unions in Nigeria, the ex-governor of Kwara laid the blame on Federal Government’s insensitivity.

Saraki added, “There is no way I will be part of government as the Senate President and ASUU and other unions in the Universities will go on strike for months, that is absolutely not possible.

“It is lack of compassion and dedication. It is a matter that government should lock itself up in a room and refused to come out until the matter is resolved. But I have not seen that dedication. I don’t know whether you have seen it.

“That is the difference between PDP government and what we have now. It could not have happened under Presidents Obasanjo, Yar’Adua and Jonathan.”

Wike will never decamp to APC. Wike will reject APC with his blood. Peter Obi visited him, Wike reject Peter obi, Rabiu Kwankwaso visited Wike, Wike reject Kwankwaso, Dave Umahi visited Wike last month, Wike reject him same way Wike will reject all the APC governors too. Eti poto. Rivers State is Pdp since 1999 and it always be Pdp.

Of course, there is no way Gov. Nyesom Wike would dump PDP when he has planted his acolytes as PDP candidates in Rivers State at different levels for 2023 elections. He will be stupid to do that.

As for Sen. Bukola Saraki, immediately after the presidential primary, he ran back to Kwara State and has been silently working hard to secure the bag for next four years. Only four years of being outside government and he felt like fish out of water. He has all his life lived on public fund and money from ran-down family bank.

How Bukola Saraki as young man born, raised and trained as a doctor in United Kingdom with urbane disposition and gift of the gab failed woefully to change the situation of Kwara State for 8 years but superbly boosted his wealth as governor is something that needs to be a case study in leadership failure research.

Wike will never help Tinubu to get 25% in Rivers State. You don’t even know Wike at all. Read his response about the handover to his successor in Pdp in 2023. Wike keep on hitting Betrayal Amaechi hard. As it stands today, Pdp are one in Rivers State unlike Ameachi that splits APC into 3 factions. Tinubu is a goner.

Amechi and Wike conflict is like a script from the movie.

Wike can decide to decamp to APC if he wants.

Lol. Normally, Wike has only 1 vote.... Okay, let's give him like 50,000 votes because of people who he has influence on. Why not campaign and try to convince the people to vote for you instead of glorifying one man as if he has an hypnotic hold on millions of rivers state people and they'll only vote for whoever he wants them to vote for. Peter Obi visiting Wike to also court him shows he ain't different from the rest of these dirty politicians. Why can't you ignore Wike, campaign effectively and win these votes?

Even if Wike goes to APC, he will like Amechi go alone. Amechi as Governor defected to APC and lost every election till date. The truth is that Niger Delta people will vote PDP and Labour Party in next presidential election. The level of political enlightenment in Niger Delta is high and they know APC failed and Tinubu brought Buhari
