A NEW ANAMBRA IS HERE

Anambra State Governor; Charles Chukwuma Soludo with his entire SOLUTION TEAM, today, welcome International Community and Development Partners at Govt House Agu Awka.

Governor Soludo in his welcome address to the visitors, gave in details; the opportunities, possibilities, economic values, abilities of Ndi Anambra, tourist attractions etc and many key areas of the state that need improvement.

He added that the state has done much in making development accessible to rural communities, and ease of doing business in Anambra is exceptional even though more efforts is continually needed.

According to the governor, his administration is fully bent on reducing the cost of governance effectively and money saved has been channelled to road rehabilitation and maintenance in some key areas of the state.

Since assuming office, the governor has continued to harp on the need for environmental protection as well as understanding that the era of oil revenue has sharply reduced hence the need to look towards other areas to generate money to develop the state further.

He stated that even though insecurity has become a national problem, his administration is determined to arrest the situation in Anambra and has continued to make progress.

Conclusively, he expounded on the need to address flooding that has affected Anambra West, Anambra East and Ogbaru Communities. He mentioned some tourist sites like; Ogbunike Cave, Owerri Ezukala etc… He equally spoke on the devastating effect of erosion in Anambra presently, dilapidated roads and many damaged educational facilities like; classrooms blocks, chairs, etc
The governor thanked the envoys and will be taking them on state tour.

They are going about it the wrong way to show how once again he got his appoimtment at ASWAMA wrong. Appointing big contractors is the wrong way to go about it other than evacuating waste from markets. The state government needs to establish depots, incinerators and landfills around cities and then buy waste by volume. Entrepreneurs will bring the waste to them. At the same time they need to charge every single commercial entity waste fees - market stalls, shops, restaurants, hotels, multi tenant buildings.

I have been in the east these past 2 months, I had the opportunity to visit Awka twice, and I was not impressed with what I saw............ If after 4 months Soludo has not deemed it essential to do remedial work on the manageable portions of the Onitsha/Enugu that pass through his capital city, then we may be in for one massive disappointment............stormwater from the median drains is threatening to cut off portions of that key road and I saw massive potholes in front of the flyover bridges.......................................... The visit of these European leeches will not solve these immediate problems........the Chinese are a better choice as development partners or at least he should shine his torch light in that direction too..........Lagos has a brand new port in lekki courtesy of the Chinese.I wish Soludo well sha, he has a lot of work to do on the general outlook of the physical and bio environment of Anambra.


One suggestion is to construct dedicated trailer and bus parks for the thousands of heavy industrial and commercial vehicles blocking road access every minute of the day. I am sure the per capita ratio of such vehicles to residents in Anambra is the highest in Africa. It makes driving in Anambra a nightmare.......a situation made worse by massive markets encroaching on the roads............................Anambra needs "robust infrastructural development" backed with the requisite "political will". On political will, I will score soludo very high! but he has to start implementing his plans before he is overwhelmed!

Hope Uzodinma ur governor will soon end his disastrous tenure and nothing to show for it. The only thing he succeeded in doing was to bomb and kill all imo indigenes and now imo indigenes are all camping in Anambra with their dirty lifestyle.
