I feel so sad for her. America can be a cold and hard place and very easy to fall through the cracks.

Well, she is 32 now, and she arrived in the US at 19. 19 is not too young...a lot of Nigerians arrive at the US for studies around the same age...and do well...like Chiamanda Adiche for example.

At the end of the day, she initially did do well...she did her studies, then married (an American) had children, and the marriage (like many here in Nigeria and the US ) failed due to her mental issues and also other stuff apparently.
Where did you guys read that she married an American? Is there a more detailed article available?

Marry a man that truly loves you don't chase after rich men for marriage.
Can you relate this to this lady's case?

She's frustrated, seemed to have lost so many, and been deprived. She needs a psychologist.
Re: Peace Ofoego Notorious For Breaking Into Mansions To Sleep Arrested In The US by 1stGenAmerican(f): 6:47pm On Jul 18, 2022
I pray her family comes forward, especially because she refused a lawyer and is representing herself. By representing herself, she is depriving herself of a mental evaluation/a chance to get mental help. Sadly, she will most likely end up in jail or possibly dead instead of a facility that’ll provide her with help.
She refused the subpoenas so there’s a huge possibility that she’ll miss court and have a warrant issued for her arrest if she isn’t shot by a homeowner first. What she’s doing is dangerous and she needs her family to intervene before it’s too late.

She committed crimes which is why she was taken to jail. The police can’t diagnose her or force her to go to a mental health facility and as long as she doesn’t cooperate, she won’t get help. It appears that she is denying that she has mental issues.

At this point her consent is not needed to be admitted to rehab. She is becoming a public nuisance.

Unfortunately, that’s not how it works. As a public nuisance, she’ll end up in jail or dead.

She has been in America for the past 13 years. That is long enough time for someone to change for better or worse..

I may not understand how it works but charging her to court isn't a better option. Her behaviors are already incoherent.

I understand your concern and I agree with you which is why I said she needs immediate outside intervention such as a family member. She also needs someone to advocate for her. Even if a family member appears and has her committed, she can sign herself out after 72 hours.

This is how thousands of mentally ill people end up in the criminal justice system.

UK daily mail has a more detailed article...they even named her American husband, and a (Nigerian) relative. As well as a previous arrest in Florida.

Article here

Relevant bit
Ofoego has since lived in several locations in Florida over the past few years, the Post reports, and worked with her husband Marquis Duvuall Hudson for a company called Meticulous Cleaning Services in Boca Raton.

Court documents seem to back her claims that her husband, Marquis Duvuall Hudson, 40, was abusive. He was charged with 'domestic battery to a pregnant female' in 2018 but the charges were dropped when Ofoego did not show up to court

Court documents seem to back her claims that her husband, Marquis Duvuall Hudson, 40, was abusive. He was charged with 'domestic battery to a pregnant female' in 2018 but the charges were dropped when Ofoego did not show up to court

Court documents seem to back her claim he was abusive.

Hudson, now 40, was charged with resisting arrest and assaulting an officer in 2017. He was then sentenced to 11 months in prison.

After he got out, police records show he allegedly struck Ofoego while she was pregnant.

She had called cops the day after Christmas in 2018, saying that five days earlier they had a fight while putting cleaning supplies in a storage locker.

A police report claims Hudson 'was accusing her of trying to leave the country, and the two got into an argument' during which 'Marquis grabbed her throat and began choking her.'

Ofoego told cops she was having trouble breathing and nearly passed out.

'I asked Peace if Marquis is capable of killing her or her children, [to] which she stated 'yes,'' Officer Tobias Andrews wrote.

'Marquis at the time of the battery was aware Peace is pregnant.'

He was charged with 'domestic battery to a pregnant female,' but when Ofoego failed to show up to court to provide testimony against him, the case was thrown out.

I pray she finds healing and justice.

I hope she is not among those who live overseas and talk down on Nigeria not knowing that some of their mates here in Nigeria are living far better life than them here in Nigeria.

Nigeria will never bless anyone who speak ill of the land and even if you are far away you are still going to reap all your curses on the land. Just watch it so that your transient comfort does not make you puff up to start talking down on Nigeria.

And if you bless Nigeria so will you be blessed but you curse Nigeria so will your life be cursed. Be careful and bless Nigeria all the time.

All the enemies of Nigeria will lose las las. They always lose.
God bless Nigeria for ever.

Poverty is a member of the devil's cabinet.

After reading the story, only one thing came to my mind. Celebrities and street warriors will not allow us to sleep over their mansion.

Mansion that s worth #50 million but contract milked them dry to the tune of #100 million, they will come online to say their mansion is valued at #300 million.

Just imagine a mansion for rent is $275,000 (#168,765,000) for a month. The class of people that rent these will never come online to brag, they will wear ordinary T-shirts and Jeans without a bodyguard.

But in 9ja they want the major express to be clear because they are driving through.

WOW looking into her eyes she is deeply in mourning and in sorrow.i think she misses naija. although i think her actions are calculated. if you break into a house that is unoccupied and manage to live there for 3 months the house automatically becomes yours in american law and this is why she is looking for expensive homes. so i also think her action is calculated

Sukkot is right.
I just finished reading a more detailed article that a moniker directed me to and now, I agree with you. You recognized the same pattern that I now recognize. Her actions are aligned with a person wanting to gain possession of a home by squatting, something that’s become common with Nigerians here. They sometimes rent out the house to others under false pretenses. She is refusing to stay in places where she can be helped and targeting large, unoccupied houses.
@sukkot do you think she is using the laptop she is carrying to search for the rental properties?
