I think it will only create a sense of balance if it starts to snow in the entire Africa. Then gradually we will loose our melanin since there is no need for it and become white while the Europeans starts acquiring melanin on their skin.

We may have sat up if we had such natural disasters, knowing that if we didn't do anything, our family, livestock and property could be affected at any time, any day, just as theirs (politicians' ) could be affected too. The politician who fails to act might even be a victim of these disasters or protests, so, he/she would naturally want to work to prevent it. Natural disasters no get enemy.
We are this backwards because we don't have such heavy environmental challenges. If not...

I doubt it, we will wait for it to kill us tire, cry and wail.

We have environmental challenges, the extreme heat is with us, and what have we done to make Life better, nothing, we only make it worse.

But Germany has just switched over to burning of coal to generate electricity in order to further deplete the ozone layer.
The West have been in the forefront of campaign for clean energy but now they are the major culprits in carbon emission.
