What Causes This. by Anuoluwa12345(f): 7:01am On Jul 23, 2022
Good morning everyone. Pls I need some contribution from medical personnel on the forum. I notice whenever I sit down for long like 2 hrs or not up to that or more than that my leg will have become swollen by the time I stand up. Something I can call fluid retention in the leg region.. only the leg region tho.

And if I sit down even it it's on the floor for long, nothing of such happens to my leg. And also if I sleep it doesn't happen.

But whenever I stand up and walk a little like 5 min or 10 min it will come back to normal again. What do you think can be the cause, and how do I tackle it. Tho I will be going to the hospital today, I only open this thread to compare whatever is said here to what the doctor will say... And also to my own knowledge cuz I am also a medical student.

Pls doctors in the house, and other medical practitioners kindly drop you opinion, thanks in anticipation!.

if your legs swells up its not normal....

but if you do feel some sensation on the leg, its due to the improper flow of the blood round the leg region

I know it's not normal hence why I decide going to the hospital, thank you. you are talking about muscle cool right, and I don't feel it... So, it's definitely fluid retention.

Are you hypertensive?

The swollen leg is as a result of edema and it can be hypertension induced.

It can actually be managed well.

Oh!
You need to check your food consumption if you take too much salt
If you are pregnant
Infection can also cause it if your immunity is low
Some over the counter drugs that you’re taking
And most importantly, go and see a doctor and perhaps carry out some test

Thanks for you contribution... All you said here doesn't partain to me tho, I am also a medical student so I know the over the counter drugs is a no no... I will surely go to the hospital today tho .. and whatever it is that is causing it.. EMI o le fo cheesy cheesy... Lol. But what I am thinking is sodium, maybe salt or cuz I love to take sea foods, and you know sea foods are high in sodium.
No symptoms of diseases ppl listed there, it's only swollen legs when sited . Thanks for your contribution once again, God bless you!.

Swollen legs could be caused by many different factors, with other symptoms. But since you're not feeling any pain with it, they can be limited to weakened valves of your veins or poor nutrition.

For the veins; when the valves in your veins are weak, the veins find it hard to push blood back up to your heart, and leads to varicose veins and a buildup of fluid in the legs. Concerning poor nutrition; as you eat a lot of foods high in salt (sodium), fluid could build up in different parts of your body.

However, seeing your doctor is the best thing to know the exact cause. I wish you sound health.

Okay king.
Well, I'm sure some other people actually understand what I meant there.
Take good care anyway.
