Tokunbo Wahab: LASU, Other Lagos State Owned Tertiary Institutions Not On Strike by Lanrelagboi(op): 12:27pm On Jul 26, 2022
In a Facebook post, Lagos state Special adviser to the governor on Education and also in charge of tertiary institutions, Tokunbo Wahab

It is quiet unfortunate that the ASUU strike persist this long. In as much as ALL Lagos State-owned higher institutions are in session and not part of the strike since the inception of the Sanwoolu led administration, I still sympathize with Nigerian students.

ASUU must device a new approach. Strike is not the only option for the sake of our future generation. It is also important that the FG should think outside the box. There must be a solution! TW

Nice one from Lagos. Ipkeazu see your mate. under your watch Abia Poly lost accreditation, ABSU lost accreditation. Aba is a mess, Umuahia is a slum. Nothing to show aside taking loans up and down and following Governor Nyesome Wike like his ADC.

Meanwhile after making a show of solving ASUU strike in an attempt to politicize it, the meeting Tinubu had with ASUU turned out to be yet another useless meeting.

Expect a continuation of useless security, fec and other meetings that have no impact on the economy if Tinubu becomes the president.

The devil has filled the mind of most Nigerians, forced them to campaign for Buhari, we all see Tinubu's impact in Lagos, it's glaring, Lagos is the only city we have in Nigeria, but the devil don't want good for us. Nigeria problem is Nigerians, simply vote for the leader with the best state or region in terms of everything development, security, education, but the devil says no.

They are ready to die for Atiku, Buhari and Obi, one day God will shame them

Same with Anambra state university and some other universities......But we should be more concerned about those at home.......because they are in the majority and didn't make a bad choice by choosing Nigerian Universities......APC na pure scam

It is a great achievement

Imagine if all states tertiary institutions in Nigeria are not on strike like that of Lagos state ?

Doesn't that mean half of the Problems have already been solved?

But because of your hatred for Lagos state government and Tinubu you did not think before you comment.

That's why we want Jagaban to pilot the affairs of the country, there would be no ASUU strike under his watch

Actually, they will be as entitled to TETFund as those who are on strike now. It is a matter of the constitution embarassed
Did you read of a lecturer who took his University to court because he was not paid Earned Allowance? The guy is not a member of ASUU and likely did not partake in the fight for the Earned Allowance. lronically, the guy won in court because ASUU did not employ him and Earned Allowance was given to Universities to pay their staff (the guy was to be paid 3m naira plus, in Earned Allowance o!) angry
Re: Tokunbo Wahab: LASU, Other Lagos State Owned Tertiary Institutions Not On Strike by Nobody: 12:49pm On Jul 26, 2022
Problem is...funding.

Government and ASUU don't want to face the reality...that fees have to go up to meet the demands of the universities in this country...because funds from the budget are not enough to fund even primary schools...if that was all we used the education allowance from the budget for.

The problem is, if fees go up, a lot of poor students won't be able to afford university.

The other solution is to tax every Nigeria...farmers, herdsmen, and beggars inclusive. That's not politically popular, but economically necessary.

Finally, diversifying the economy...which would work, if we were diversifying into being an exporter of manufactured goods...not just raw materials whose prices we no set.

But for now, fees is the issue.

By what measure is Lagos the [only] city?
It's obviously the most commercial but you should travel though - Kano & PHC are cities in any way that Lagos is.
